Wow Jim, some paranoia there.

Did you know that researchers at Princeton and NYU found that Facebook users 65 and over posted seven times as many articles from fake news websites, compared to adults under 29.

Thanks to Jim this thread is great training for anyone who wants to excel at Whack-A-Mole.
You are in some ways correct Puddin. I’m going to step away from this thread and spend time
on a couple of others, mainly the Election 2020 one. In my opinion it is a bit more relevant and fresh.
TBH, I have made my views and opinions clear many times over; it is hyper-obvious what you all think. Neither opinion can be moved. Therefore, Fighting and arguing with no hope of progress is futile and a waste of time.

I’ve tried this before but returned to respond to questions and might I say some insults. If I am posed no questions or pinged with something requiring a response in self defense smile I can remain out of your hair. You can then return this thread to its former bliss of groupthink. biggrin Any genuine election question one has of me can be posted on the Election thread.

I appreciate those of you here that were polite
In your arguments. Again, we agree about more than we disagree. Have a good rest of your day. beer

They are still fighting to keep trumps tax returns hidden

The Manhattan District Attorney’s office is pressing the Supreme Court to enforce a grand jury subpoena for President Trump’s financial and tax records amid a probe of crimes allegedly committed before he moved into the White House.

In a brief filed Wednesday, prosecutors argued that shielding Trump from investigations of his private financial dealings pre-Oval Office will set a dangerous precedent that runs contrary to “the bedrock principle that no person is above the law.”

The memo further adds Trump’s lawyers “failed” to prove the subpoena would interfere with his presidential duties.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/manhattan-...

Trump’s lawyers have argued as long as he’s president, he, his business and associates are immune from having to provide evidence of private and possible criminal acts that predate his presidential stint. Vance’s lawyers counter Trump doesn’t have immunity from a subpoena for documents unrelated to his presidency.

Just a quick thought - does trump want Pence as his Vice running mate? Put him in charge of the virus response and if it all blows up it's not trumps fault and he dumps Pence?
Last night was the launch of Trump / Haley 2020.

Putting Pence in charge of Coronavirus response was laughable. Google Scott County IN HIV.

I'd forgotten about that - she was mentioned as a likely successor to Pence last year.

Remember trump said: "Stock Market starting to look very good to me!" just three days ago

Risk aversion drove global stocks lower on Thursday, increasing their drop in value this week alone to more than $3 trillion, and U.S. Treasuries yields hit record lows as the coronavirus spread faster outside China than in

The pan-European STOXX 600 index fell 2.5% and the blue-chip index in Italy - the worst-hit country in Europe - sank as dozens of European companies issued warnings about potential damage to their profits.

In the United States, Microsoft became the second trillion-dollar company to warn about its results after Apple. Its Frankfurt-listed shares were down 3%.

Global equities have now fallen for six straight days, and Wall Street’s volatility gauge was near its late-2018 highs.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-global-markets/...

Yields on U.S. Treasuries, which fall when prices rise, dropped below 1.3% for 10-year debt and the yield curve continued to send recession warnings.

Of course trump had this covered yesterday. When the stock markets go up it's because of him, when they go down it's all the Dems fault biggrin

So, choose a Trump-like candidate because he has a "D" instead of an "R" in front of his name, thus compromising the just-mentioned principles?
That said, I believe that is just what the DNC will do. The DNC will confer with CNN, MSNBC, the NYT, and Washington Post to decide how to push Bloomberg to the front. Not sure if it will work but watch for them to try.

Seriously? If I was a ranking honcho within the DNC I’d be pushing the Bloomies angle for all I was worth!! It’s not paranoia, it’s the only logical/realistic/realpolitik game in town if they want a shot at beating Trump. Bernie, Biden or Warren are not going to cut it. Now I’ve already said I think Mayor Pete is/will be a cracking candidate in the future, but it’s equally obvs that this time around is not his time. Hell, he knows it isn’t, but it’s an awesome PR trip for him to take him from a nobody smack into top level American political consciousness.
If I was the Reps, Bloomy is the only one I’d vaguely worry about.

This isn't a unique situation.

EVERYTHING that goes well is because of Trump.
EVERYTHING that goes badly is because of Obama, or the Dems, or somebody else.

You and I might think that only exceptionally stupid people would believe this, or argue that this is the case, or defend Trump's assertions.

What do you think Jimbeaux?

Is Pence any good at being a competent organiser administrator type? I must admit I only know him for his religious loony views, no idea what his organisational abilities are like.

Of course I’d want to make sure he wasn’t about to declare it a “Gods judgement on humanity!” type thing first...

If Bloomberg gets in then the USA will be pretty much a textbook oligarchy (not that its not already).

He was a terrible governor of Indiana and was on his way to defeat in 2016 when Trump saved him by putting him on the ticket.

He refers to his wife as "Mother". What more do you need to know?

Trump switching to pro-life helped that cause as well.

Reagan and Bush Sr made the same move.

Low Ratings Fake News MSDNC (Comcast) & @CNN are doing everything possible to make the Caronavirus look as bad as possible, including panicking markets, if possible. Likewise their incompetent Do Nothing Democrat comrades are all talk, no action. USA in great shape! @CDCgov.....
I'm not sure that is a speeling pistak; that's more like a st pun to suggest that NBC and the DNC have merged or something, which is far too sophisticated a joke for Trump and would mean this has been tweeted by a staffer.
