Sold at Race Retro yesterday for just £22,500. Someone bagged a bargain!

TVR prices seem to be all over the place. This is a unique(?) piece of TVRs racing history going for £22K. There's a T400R race car just gone up for sale for £370K, I don't get it?!?!?

I suspect that the T400R has some Le Mans / FIA international provenance. Where as the SEAC while successful domestically had a Macau race on the international scene.

Yep agreed but the T400R is 17 times the price, seems to me that the Tuscan onwards is starting to command good money where as the older models are very under valued

A truly silly price for a piece of TVR and Wedge history. If I'd had a third garage I'd have cashed in a few investments just to get my hands on it. A real shame.

I have a four post parking lift to resolve that problem, 2 car garage with 4 cars (3 of which definitely need garaging), not crazy expensive either

I think all TVRs are wildly under valued. How much is a decent MGB or TR form the 70s and 80s? Complared to prices of similar TVRs.

Even the Chimps, Griefs and Trucks are 'cheap' when compared to their contemporaries. Sag and Tuscan '3' aside.

Good for those who want the fun but don't have large disposable resources.

Agree with your comparison with MG and TR prices, but modern stuff the same age as my 1999 Chimaera is worth a lot less than the Chimaera.

My wife’s 1999 Saab estate cost us £875 four years ago. Estate, auto, 2.3 turbo, leather, aircon etc etc. Everything working, under 100,000 miles.

A Porsche Boxster of similar age and mileage will set you back £3500. https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds?Category=u...

My 110,000 mile TVR is worth around £12-15,000.

I always imagined the Griff would go the same way as E-types, with pre-cats leading the way to astronomical prices - no sign of it though even with the earliest Griffs now nearing 30 years old

I agree, TVR prices seem to be all over the place, especially any vehicle with good history. Makes me wonder what my humble 1987 350i is worth now passed its MOT?

Thanks Collin. Seems about what I thought. Fortunately mine has some history with original bills of sale, handbooks etc. Interesting to see the exact order form and specification of the vehicle when new. Cheers John C.

Funnily enough somebody bought a load of old classic car mags into work today and as I glanced through them I found an article on buying wedges. So just when you were thinking your wedge isn't worth a lot, this article includes a graph showing wedge prices appreciating. So betwen 2010 and 2015, the 350i prices have increased from about £8K to £15K (for good condition), so presumably by now must be worth over £20K ?!?! Woohoo.

Not quite sure what planet the author is on? £15k for a 350i???? Even £8k would be for an extremely tidy one. In the 6 years I've owned Wedges I'd guess that a 350i has maybe gone up in value £1k???

15 years ago I let my sound and tidy 350 i go for less than. £2,000. Just could not shift it. & now regret having to. How times have changed.

Harry was very excited about it in his auction preview.

I was very tempted by it but was advised it is a one in one out policy at our house, so if I want another flaming comet of death, I need to sell one and make space in the garage.

I've a real soft spot for Wedges, and this was a bargain.

Yes. A very low price for such a piece of TVR history.
