I’m a southerner who moved to York just over a year ago. It’s lovely up here with much friendlier people imo
Well done but I'd suggest you keep it secret before they all move up there.TeaNoSugar said:
Gods County? A lad I used to work with told me there are only two types of people in the world; people from Yorkshire, and people who wish they were from Yorkshire
Meh, I’ve been there a couple of times, nothing to write home about, although York isn’t bad. Some of the County was okay, most other parts not so much, bit like anywhere really
I don’t feel happy until I’m either approaching Highbury Corner, or getting off a train at Kings Cross.

Are "lefty people" actually boycotting this product in great numbers, or have some fruitcake sadsacks on the internet had a seemingly vocal but relatively insignificant group tantrum?

i must be the third of the two types. Born in one county neighboring Yorkshire (only 15 miles from Sheffield) and now live in the red rose county. Gets right up my nose this supposed Yorkshire 'superiority'
FFS, they have Keighley !!! Enough said.
I'm not sure what Derbyshire DOES have and the red rose has Salford. We all have out crosses to bear FFS, they have Keighley !!! Enough said.
But don't let it get up your nose - inferiority complexes are as unhealthy as superiority ones.
I thought YT's response was good. Though I fear "be kind" is in danger of going the same way as "me too" and "poverty".
I imported my wife up to Yorkshire from Surrey, I don't drink tea, it's weird stuff, but she currently has stocks of regular Yorkshire Tea, Yorkshire Gold and Bettys Tearoom Blend, all by Taylors of Harrogate. When she heads south she advocates their hard water variant.
She's never once complained she can't get "Surrey Tea" up here.
Still at least we've moved on from boycotting it because it's not grown in Yorkshire...

I've spent time living in Yorkshire and in London. Horses for courses and all that, but I'd take Yorkshire in a heartbeat over London. As some other posters have alluded to, it's a much friendlier place. In general - granted, Chapeltown in Leeds was pretty challenging when I lived in Yorkshire. I found London on the whole at best deliberately anonymous and at worst intentionally rude. Some of the County was okay, most other parts not so much, bit like anywhere really
