What a stshow.

Starmer and his oddball goons look like some sort of religious heavies.

Bit of a PR disaster there.
Hi goons appear to have gone for matching colour schemes & hairstyles.

The Pub guy comes across as a loon to me
I am in two minds about whether to have him dealt with via the nice option of sending in Jess "Future Leader" Phillips in to chat with him
OR
spreading rumours that he waters down his beer and his kitchen area has rats
Please don't do either, it's a good pub that is the highlight of my rugby watching days in Bath currently given the current state of the team!

It's too late Angela Raynor has already been despatched to deal with him

That blue outfit doesn't suit him very well, there's more than a hint of coach driver about him!

The onwers of the Pub have appologised for the mans behaviour:

Also, very nicely played by Sir Keir:

Apologised for the landlord's behaviour?

fk off - he's entirely entitled to refuse service or entry to anyone at any time.

As for the goon manhandling him and trying to push him down a flight of stairs, and Starmer telling him "I'll not be lectured by the likes of you" - jog the fk on, and once you think you fked off enough, carry on and fk off some more.

Supercilious fknugget. Especially with the claims of assault on a female staffer (conveniently not on cam, whereas goon tt's actions absolutely are).

Presumably the landlord's desire that the Labour opposition opposes anything the government does would have had him furious at Clement Attlee for not backing Hitler.

Really?
Comes across as sneering and superior to me, especially after his security was filmed manhandling the bloke in his own pub.

Are we talking pre, or post appeasement here?

fking hell.

I know Godwin's Law is a thing, but blimey you have excelled yourself in the largest extrapolatory leap I've seen in a very long time...

Of course, it's not just "oppose for the sake of it" - Starmer was routinely calling for 'daft punk' restrictions compared to the government. Harder, better, faster, stronger...

Are you suggesting he can refuse service or entry to a gay person or a non-white person?

Yeah, bit of a dick move not to show some contrition if you're going to bring it up, I had a little sympathy for him before that. I'm not sure the guy knows which way the wind's blowing so I suppose it's no surprise.

What was he doing anyway, I thought we weren't supposed to be going into pubs yet, let alone with an entourage?

As long as it's not discriminatory against a protected characteristic, yes. Note, I did not finish the sentence with "for any reason"...

The christian bakers who got (rightfully) done fell foul because they made it clear the reason was relating to homosexuality.

If they'd have said "we're too busy, sorry", then the burden of proof is on the claimant to demonstrate it was due to their protected characteristic.

You could very easily say 'don't want you in my pub, I've a phobia of Labour leaders with goons who look like they've just finished working for Tommy Robinson'. Non discriminatory, and accurate.

Poor show by Starmer and his thugs, parading around the place and assaulting the bloke in his own pub when he asked them to leave. The man is a disgrace.

Zero sympathy for Starmer, especially after his goons manhandled the guy in his own pub.

You’d think his team would call ahead to a friendly pub and arrange something ... short sighted on their part, especially in the current climate.

Sounds like an attempted smear campaign against the man, now, too. Unless they have some evidence?

Something darkly comical about how messed up politics is in this country when the bloke who isn't in charge is getting more scrutiny from the media and the public for not being in charge than the bloke who actually is in charge seems to get.

We're so fked hehe

Well, I don't think I've seen any examples of Johnson having his goons assaulting someone on their own premises. Or at all...

I do see a lot of scrutiny about Johnson though, I hear far more about him and his failings than I hear at all about Starmer.

Of course he deserves more scrutiny. His party is dangerous.

Slightly OT, but the Christian Bakers were not being homophobic. The Supreme Court rightly sided with the Bakers in that it was the message on the cake they objected to, not the sexually of the activists/customer.
