One of them is a Yoga teacher, the other is a therapist.During a discussion about how engineering is allegedly racist and sexist, which is why so many women don’t want to do that sort of work, my Wife, who actually is a engineer by trade, (power stations, oil & gas, smelting & furnaces etc), isn’t white and isn’t British, said that in her opinion, it was more likely the poor pay, poor hours, working away from home and dirty, dangerous and physically demanding work that puts most women off and that in nearly 20 years in the trade, she’d never encountered racism or sexism.
Apparently, according to these two mentalists, my Wife was wrong about all of this, and apparently she faces racism and sexism every day and thoughts and claims that she doesn’t make us both “racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, and xenophobic”, and she’s only saying that she doesn’t because she’s oppressed.
At this point we both just looked at each other and burst out laughing.

We have one very similar. Wife's best friend for years. Went to school in neighbouring towns, identical upbringing, went to university together in exact same course. Early 40s.t mental. In the last 2 years the friend has started sporting a soviet military cap (the one with the star/sickle insignia) and rhetoric has increasingly turned extreme. In the last few months she has become so unpleasant in person and social media that we decided to cut her out of our lives entirely (blocked on social media etc). This sent her off the deep end and in one of the many abusive messages she has sent since she has said our unwillingness to listen and be vocal in agreement with her ideology is cast iron proof that we are full-on card carrying facists/racists etc and should be "exterminated" (her words). What sent her off the deep end was my suggestion that perhaps she has become the extremist and not us.
The reality being that I doubt she has ever really interacted with one of the people she proclaims she is protecting from us (being from the west coast of Scotland, where she has never left except for a holiday in Ibiza once). When challenged with the fact I have many friends from a very diverse background (by virtue that I lived and currently work in the US for a third of my existence) she was horrendously insulting about them and that my friendship was a "facade to mask my true intentions".
I put the change down to her contentment in life. We have been fortunate - professional careers, children etc. She has not. Bad decisions in her final months of university (going on holiday a month before finals) split her path from my wife's. My wife got a good degree, graduate training programme, strong career out the gates. The friend got a 3rd, combined with the early signs of a bad attitude meant no professional job, bad relationship choices followed and she's in her 40s, single, dependent on the state for a lot of her existence. It's everyone's fault but her own. It has taken her down the path where anyone mildly successful had an unfair advantage in life, and that includes my wife, even though they literally started out with the same opportunities.

Ok, so let’s give this some context. Reading the thread that the clip was posted on, the bike woman tried to stop the initial group of women loot a shop...they turn on her and rob her. Hockey stick guy is driving past and tries to help bike woman. All the young black men in the crown watching interpret this as hate crime by hockey stick guy and mob beat him.
