I won't be shamed into not providing my opinions on a discussion forum.
I'm not sure where you got that from?? Who is shaming you?
Forgive me ... it sounded like you were shaming myself and a handful of other posters for taking over the thread. It wasn't my assertion but perhaps I lapped it up when I shouldn't have.

No hard feelings from me.

After last night disappointing result for Man United, coach Ole Gunner Solskjaer has invited Boris Johnson to their next training session to give some tips on how to turn/change direction with incredible speed.

That was £2 billion that could have gone to the NHS, to coin a phrase.

What’s the likely unexaggerated cost?
You're missing my point.
BBC article says, costs up to 2 billion plus a 12 month delay, Zygy immediately reports this as a minimum 2 billion cost and a two year delay... hehe
The BBC and reuters etc are just repeating Britain’s Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Secretary Oliver Dowden in parliament.

Dowden said:
This will delay our 5G rollout. Our decisions in January had already set back that rollout by a year and cost up to a billion pounds.

Today’s decision to ban the procurement of new Huawei 5G equipment from the end of this year will delay rollout by a further year and will add up to half a billion to the costs. Requiring operators, in addition, to remove Huawei equipment from their 5G networks by 2027 will add hundreds of millions to the cost and further delay roll out. This means a cumulative delay to 5G rollout of two to three years and costs of up to two billion pounds.

Difficult to see any exaggeration by the bbc anyway.

But yes you and zygalski are both half right or half wrong, he said up to 2 billion and two to three year delay.

And where have you been demonised? All a bit OTT isn’t it? Nobody is demonising anyone. Do you feel demonised? I certainly don’t

It’s just some people posting about the government on a thread about our PM.

No hard feelings, and apologies accepted. The discussions this morning about masks felt fair minded and good natured. It's a shame we can't keep that tone more often.

Yep, totally agreed.

We do need a healthy dose of de-escalation in here from time to time smile

I stand corrected.
Huawei decision will mean 2 to 3 year cumulative delay + £2bn additional costs, according to the Torygraph.

Please be assured that my post isn't aimed at any one or more specific person(s).

And it's markyb_lcy (London City) not markyb_icy ... I'm not as cool as I'd like to be biggrin

Serious apologies - lcy makes so much more sense!

The point is that the tone of debate on here is a little bit frothy. "Ultras", "stopping people from posting", and random claims of people being "mental" and defending Boris at any cost are simply dishonest - and in a couple of places downright nasty.

Do you actually think ANYTHING there in all those links is demonising you? Honestly?

Look back to this morning, the thread was all quite light hearted until you waded in calling people out and insulting them and now feigning victimisation and that you’re being demonised.

Cmon tuna you keep arriving and taking the piss out of those of us complaining which is great but then you start flouncing about it all a few posts later when people respond.

Demonising: portray as wicked and threatening.

The persistent use of the term "Ultras" to refer to anyone not criticising Boris, claims of attacks that didn't even occur in this thread and other tactics designed to dehumanise and demonise other posters on here is getting embarrassing.

El stovey said:

When did I wade in and call people out? Seriously chap, go and re-read the posts - and specifically the accusations you've been throwing around left right and centre.

If you can't see it, you might be part of the problem.
