trump is miles away from even being able to have 'close friends'. A narcissist only deals with transactions.
I'm not a psychologist so can only go off what he said, "close friend", he doesn't use that term much. Anyway the point was about the relationship they have.

how do you 'rethink' a fact or are you confusing facts with what you think. He is very close Friends with Boris he has helped the country out in a time of need.

He doesn't have any friends. It's all transactional.

Trump probably hasn't heard what Boris said about him before becoming PM otherwise he's be crossed off the list. Can't remember exactly what he called Trump but it was something along the lines of incompetent moron.

''Donald Trump has claimed the UK has asked the United States for 200 "desperately needed" ventilators due to a shortage amid the coronavirus crisis.

The US leader described Britain as “great partners” as he said “we’ve got to work it out” and help with the supply of the life-saving equipment.''

At a time when it wasn't a popular thing.

Also US drug companies offered assitance.

The rel issue is Obama distanced himself from old friends like the UK, whereas Trump has embraced them. Sometimes it is better the Devil you know.
Did we actually get any of it?

Everyone is a close friend until they become just the coffee boy or he barely knew them.

We're only "old friends" as long as they need us to stand "shoulder to shoulder". The minute they don't we're just an embarrassing clingy relative at a wedding. Obama had the intelligence to realise that a united EU would provide stronger resistance to Russia and that it was only Russia which would benefit from a fragmented EU.

Did we actually get any of it?
Did we actually ask for it in the first place?

Even Spruce Goose as his advocate only says "claimed".

Has Trump said what grounds the commutation is based on?

Surely he has to give a valid reason, if only for appearances sake?

Something about being a good man that was unfairly convicted. Genuinely he is arguing that the courts and legal system is corrupt:

“... Stone is a victim of the Russia Hoax that the Left and its allies in the media perpetuated for years in an attempt to undermine the Trump Presidency”

And “if he hadn’t asked questions then he wouldn’t have had to lie”

“ Because no such evidence exists, however, they could not charge him for any collusion-related crime. Instead, they charged him for his conduct during their investigation. The simple fact is that if the Special Counsel had not been pursuing an absolutely baseless investigation, Mr. Stone would not be facing time in prison”

First you need to accept it's not a fact.

If it came out of Trump's mouth... Re-rwad the above sentence until you get it.

If Boris walked into Mar-a-lago escorted by Angela Merkel Trump wouldn't know either from a bar of soap. He'd probably have them thrown out.

Trump only says what sounds good in his head... That does not mean he understands any of it, let alone means a sliver of any of it.

And now he thinks he's Trump's best pal. He's like the kid who hangs around with the school bullies, hoping for a bit of prestige, but is only ever the bullies' bh.

Something behind those deals?

P.S> Seen this?
White House trade adviser Peter Navarro and Rudy Giuliani are leading a Trump admin effort to demand the FDA reverse course and grant a second emergency authorization for hydroxychloroquine.

Navarro is touting a study that scientists say is flawed.

White House trade adviser Peter Navarro is leading a Trump administration effort to demand the Food and Drug Administration reverse course and grant a second emergency authorization for the antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine to treat covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.

Navarro, armed with a new study that he says shows the drug’s effectiveness, is being cheered on by President Trump, who has long touted the drug as a “game changer” and even used it himself as a possible preventive measure. Trump praised the study on Twitter this week, urging the FDA to “Act Now.” The campaign also has been promoted by Rudolph W. Giuliani, the president’s lawyer, and Laura Ingraham’s show on Fox News.

But Navarro, an economist known more for his aggressive approach to trade issues and China policy than for his medical credentials, faces serious challenges as he denounces what he calls “media-induced hydroxy hysteria.” Scientists have widely criticized the new study, by Detroit’s Henry Ford Health System, as flawed. In addition, just weeks ago the FDA revoked its emergency authorization for hydroxychloroquine after major studies found the medication wasn’t effective for covid-19.

Texas battleground

Just since March, Texas has added nearly 149,000 voters. The state now has a record 16.4 million voters, 2.1 million more than it had just over four years ago.

"It's another step toward Texas being a true battleground."

trumps biggest success of his presidency will be encouraging voters to register and vote, albeit against him

trumps portsmouth rally postponed reasons explained - not many were going and they thought the bad weather would put people off, so cancelled because trump wouldn't get a crowd...

Well before the call was made to postpone President Donald Trump’s Saturday re-election rally in New Hampshire, the warning lights were flashing red.

There were no signs of the typical throngs of supporters camped out days in advance for a good spot; the Republican governor said he would skip it, advising anyone at high risk to stay home over coronavirus concerns; fears of a repeat of Tulsa’s disappointing turnout weighed heavily; and then came the stormy weather reports, which could have further stifled attendance.

By the time the campaign announced that the Portsmouth event was off, citing “safety concerns” over a tropical storm barreling toward the Northeast on Friday afternoon, people close to the campaign said fears over low turnout also motivated the decision to scrap the event.

Barr has put one of his lackeys into position at EDNY, bypassing longstanding procedure to install a trusted advisor to oversee the Guiliani & Ukraine investigations.

@AshaRangappa_
Worth noting that Stone’s admission that he could have incriminated Trump would make Trump’s pardon an act of obstruction, even under Barr’s legal view — Barr (in his dumb long 2018 memo) acknowledged that if POTUS were attempting to conceal evidence, it would be obstruction

For the same reason is also *no doubt* that Trump’s firing of Comey was clearly obstruction: He was trying to prevent evidence incriminating him from being uncovered, and we know that because Stone has admitted that he had such evidence to give and Trump knew it

Consequently, @SpeakerPelosi & @RepJerryNadler should immediately move to impeach him again. Regardless of outcome. It is the House's constitutional duty to hold him accountable for this grotesque abuse of power. As @MittRomney has just pointed out:

Mitt Romney
@MittRomney
Unprecedented, historic corruption: an American president commutes the sentence of a person convicted by a jury of lying to shield that very president.
