Various allegations about the behaviour of Tim Westwood now seem to be surfacing, and calls for him to be sacked from his Capital Xtra radio show are growing, and the hashtag #SurvivingTimWestwood is doing the rounds on Twitter, with many allegations being made.

The allegations are that he has repeatedly 'behaved inappropriately' with 'young fans' and 'student fans' over many years.

Whether any of this is true or not, remains to be seen of course.

I was amazed when I first saw a photo of him after listening to him for a while.

I was even more amazed to recently find out that he is 62yrs old!

I absolutely hate media.

There has been no criminal trial, no proof, no testimony under oath.

yet, irrespective of whether Mr Westwood is guilty or not , his name is already dragged through the mud.

Of course, it's incredibly difficult to defend such claims when they arise in public.

Oh well, I enjoyed all the years of Freestyles by artists on Tim Westwood TV and back on Radio 1 Xtra days.

Article said:
The allegations online have led to a petition at change.org demanding an investigation by the mayor of London – who oversees the Met Police – and the police themselves into Westwood’s alleged behaviour towards Black female students.

The petition has amassed over 5,000 signatures.
5,000 people have been assaulted by him, huh?
Or has one very vocal person on twitter now amassed 5,000 further signatures.
And you can probably 10x that number who have seen the post in question.

Even if he's not guilty, he's done for.

is it a witch hunt though. I mean how much does it take to stir up allegations, like Cliff Richard was subjected to.

It's unfortunate that people are referring to him as Timmy Saville - innocent until proven guilty and all that.....

He is indeed 62. He does have previous for lying about his age though.

He swore blind to a journalist from The Guardian that he was only 27, when he was actually 43 back in the year 2000.

I grew up listening to him, and still listen to some of his mixtapes now. He has had some unfair press over the years and a LOT of ridicule, but he really is an incredibly important figure in Rap/Hip Hop.

This article is well written and finally gives him the credit he deserves in my opinion:

Trial by media. Again. I only know him from the tragic pimp my ride but I’m shocked he’s 62!

Jimmy Savile had many Friend in high places.

With all this BLM stuff a cynic might say people are trying to smear him, just seems a bit odd at this time considering how long he's been around.

“I think Westwood should be taken off air,” they said. “I’m surprised they didn’t take him off air while they look into the allegations. They should at least suspend him until they are sure they’re not compromising the safety of their other staff, especially the women. This is a great opportunity for Global to replace him with young and fresh talent.
That last line suggest a possible motive for this story

We all were laugh

You can just imagine the conversation across the pond

Dr Dre: "Snoop we are sending you over for an interview on the UK's largest Radio Station"
Snoop: "Cool"
Dre: "Just one thing I need to prewarn you about. Well you know them brits are crazy, well this dj sounds a litttle different than you will expect..."

Snoop Dog created the phrase "You can't come to the kingdom and not see the Prince" in reference to not passing up the opportunity to meet Tim Westwood for any Rap artist visiting the UK.

When are the likes of Motley Crew etc going to pulled up on their well documented behaviour. Who was the band who used a snapper on a fan?

I would 100% say he had fans throwing themselves at him, the same with footballers and anyone remotely famous. I even remember Ross Kemp doing an appearance at a Southampton night club and saying how he's going to have sex with everyone's girlfriends.

Young Ross was in a club near me in the 90's - he had his minder scouting for as much fanny as he could handle

As for Westwood, and his fame in the 90's, I'd be surprised if he didn't take advantage - I bet he was fighting them off
