I don't believe any surgeon uses any re-usable mouth covering type mask.
The surgical masks are one time use only.
Surgeons also tend to have an assistant wearing gloves to mop their brow, scratch faces and adjust mask if needed. Sadly not an option going round Tesco.

Trust me, I've tried asking the wife hehe

Scientists based in Cork have developed laser-based imaging to illustrate the stark contrast between not wearing a mask and wearing one to prevent spread of Covid-19.
The researchers at Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) successfully deployed the technique to measure the brightness of micro-droplets emitted through masks.
They noticed images of exhalation could be powerful and impactful. As a consequence, they recorded a series of individual images which they amalgamated into a single image “to demonstrate the effectiveness of mask-wearing to all”. Coronavirus can be transmitted through small airborne droplets emitted when an infected person breathes, speaks or coughs.
The single image, entitled Talking Heads, has been deemed “research image of the year” in the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) 2020 Science Awards.”

A doctored image proves nothing other than the desire they have to prove their point. st like this is misleading and morally wrong.
I note they look like dummies, not real people.
The mask wearing one is unusual to the mask wearers I see,
for 1, it is as tight as fk on the (dummy?) face, - most people have them loose and many don't cover their nose,
and 2, it looks like a decent mask, not the common or garden cheapo cloth or rag most wear.

That was all about having to wear them outside, a rule which doesn’t apply in the uk.

Cool story though.

The other day I went to Kwikfit to have 2 new tyres fitted, the manager in the office was wearing a mask.

Popped over the road to an M&S food hall all staff and customers were wearing masks.

On the way home I called in at our GP surgery, I was the only patient there, I saw 3 members of staff non were wearing masks.

Called in to local pharmacy, I was the only customer, both members of staff weren't wearing mask.

confused

I went to my local Tyre place, not a multiple, last week for 2 new tyres. Not a mask in sight and no SD either. It was just business as usual and a good experience all round.

fk me what a dystopian experience I've just had. I probably eat more than my fair share of takeaways but I can't find a decent Chineese one anywhere local. A mate recommended a little one tucked away down a side street to me so I tried it tonight.

Now I might sound like I'm over exaggerating things but it really was the full on nuclear fall out experience. Walked in and there was counter to ceiling screens installed with a little plastic door in it, the woman behind it had a mask and a face shield on and immediately thrust a mask through the little door towards me saying wear please. I should have walked out there and then really but I said sorry I'm not going to wear a mask, she looked a little pissed off but took my order and I paid for it £8. I couldn't just hand her the money though I had to put it in a plastic bowl on the counter which she then took through the flap and returned the change in the same bowl.

It wasn't until I was in the off licence round the corner that it dawned on me that they probably thought that if I was prepared to give them a killer disease then they would probably try to give me one two and wipe the spare ribs round the toilet. So I went home empty handed. Contrast that with the off licence, little independent shop, not a mask in site, not even on the lady behind the counter, we had a civilised talk about the weather and I left smiling.

It's just a takeaway, can't they give it a rest just for a few minutes if a customer comes in without a mask? The place was empty anyway and after my experience I really hope it goes bust.

Yes I'm fully aware I could have simply work a mask but thats never going to happen for me and if shops want customers then they should appreciate that. People who submit to anything the government come up with will never understand my views on this and will call me a selfish prick etc but I'm now of the opinion that its just tough st if the government lovers end up on the streets now because of their actions.

Ironically more simply, if its too much hassle for me to go to a shop then there is always on-line supermarkets for food and Amazon for everything else. I went to a pizza takeaway last week and they made me wait in the car until it was ready but I didn't mind that too much as it was warmer in the car than in the shop but I still thought it was way over the top and ridiculous behaviour.

No-one can say I didn't try to support local businesses but when it becomes a chore as opposed to an experience then its time to stop. Its definitely their loss and not mine.

Whilst we are on the subject of food places I've worked in the kitchen areas of a few restaurants and pubs over the years and everyone of them have been dirty greasy st holes. One of the times I was changing some lamps in a quite exclusive pub/restaurant and I dropped a starter switch into the big pan of stew on the stove, the chef though nothing of it and fished it out with a spoon. So don't tell me the staff are st scared of a bit of illness.

And then you heard a little guy shouting "da plane boss, look, da plane".

fk me, you keep trotting out this made up horse shyte incidents. All these incidents always seem to happen to you, don't they, no one else? If they are even vaguely true, you must be a completely inept person, on every level to struggle so much with the basic tasks like buying a takeaway? How do you manage to dress yourself of a morning? Do you need your mum to tuck your shirt in? laugh
You are a total and utter fantasist Walt! And it is not even entertaining anymore.
