Couldn’t agree more. He was right about the masks though and the idiot manager at Starbucks didn’t do himself any favours by playing the racism card.

It is interesting watching people wearing masks outside in this cold weather.
Why
I'm asked to wear a mask to pick my daughter up from nursery, I have to wait outside and they bring her out to me. On cold days such as last night, it looked like I was vaping everytime I exhaled, put my mask on, my exhaled breath was still going everywhere, out of the gaps around the mask, seemingly unabated.

I'm sceptical as to the effectiveness of wearing a mask, but I will wear one if it makes others feel more comfortable around me. It's a placebo and nothing more in my opinion.

PS that guy in Starbucks is a top drawer wker.

It’s logical to assume that high grade masks used correctly will help prevent infections of Covid and other infection diseases. That’s why they’re used by medical people. Doctors and other medics use high grade masks, change them regularly and dispose of them responsibly.

Unfortunately the public aren’t following suit. The same masks are being used for days/weeks on end being repeatedly handled and left on tables and other surfaces. Many are then discarded as litter. I’ve witnessed youngster borrowing used masks before entering a shop. This behaviour can only increase infection rates.

In fact the moment they were mandated in the UK our infection rates increased. Coincidence perhaps, but probably something we shouldn't ignore?
I'm not a fan of wearing a mask in shop either and undecided about there effectiveness. But they do stop spittle which I think is there main job. Especially when people cough, yawn or are the shouty type you sometimes get outside Starbucks.

You seem to agree that masks could be effective if they are worn correctly and of the right type. But your argument is that because some don't bother to use them correctly we should get rid of them? Surely a better argument is to educate people better on there use and if needs be help people of can't afford good quality marks.

Why do you wear a mask outside? Totally pointless apart from the fact that none of the kids or staff have any level of protection from anything while they’re working so anything that will spread will spread regardless.

Totally pointless, I agree 100%, but it is nursery protocol, so I comply for the path of least resistance. Completely illogical, a little part of me dies inside every time.

It keeps my nose warm. But that's not very interesting.

Or, if you are standing inside the school gates on their property, you respect their ‘rules’.

If one is unhappy about this then I am sure there are plenty of other schools in the area that are less strict.

You obey their rules - you don't have to respect them wink

There are currently 36,933 signatures on the petition opposing masks in the UK, out of a registered population of 66,650,239.

That means we have 66,613,306 people wetting their beds. That's an awful lot of wet mattresses.

I think I am going to start up a mattress factory.

Are they in any position to mandate or enforce those rules though? Doesn’t their property and therefore their jurisdiction end at those gates?

Thats what i mean.

If one is stood on school property, and is asked to wear a mask.

Outside the gates then i guess not.

Yes, i know it's all still 'outside' etc etc etc, but on their property, their rules.

Apologies, I misread.

Easy fix for those not wanting to wear masks ... wait outside the gates.

Today I saw a queue of about 12 people standing outside M&S food shop in the pouring rain, all wearing masks! Inside of Aldi, there were more people not wearing the mask than i normally see. I also saw more people in the car park wearing the mask and more than usual driving with a mask on. It seems mask use outside is on the increase while inside it is reducing. Why that would be I have no idea.

I believe that it is compulsory to wear a mask when waiting to enter a M&S food store. No mask, no entry, no quinoa.
