I'm just going to quote your posts. No point in adding any commentary, they speak for themselves.

Yours don’t look great Tuna.

You must admit your stance of ‘only interested in facts and honest debate’ starts to look completely disingenuous when on almost every single issue, you just happen to find yourself on the side of governmental meanness??

I appreciate that it’s likely just being contrarian foe it’s own sake than something you actually feel but rightly or wrongly, you must see that sometimes it’s better to just give a few million and stop looking like the people who want children to starve??

Yet here we are.

Otherwise, all we can see is you trying to defend an abject policy yet again and attack those who are rightfully horrified by it.

We can only go on what you post and so far, the Belgian judge scores you nul points.

Nobody thinks this is OK. Hell, it even got brought up by one of the old buffers at a Yacht Club committee meeting last night. He asked if there was something we could do to help, as we have a restaurant as part of the facilities.
Everyone, and I mean everyone on the committee said yes to seeing what we could do. From the e-mails flying around this morning, it looks as if we'll be linking up with a local charity and providing a delivery service of hot meals to the people they know are in need. We were setting up a delivery and takeaway service anyway to try and help revenues thanks to now being in tier 2 and so seeing our trade disappear, but since we will be running it anyway, why not help and provide some additional meals to those in the local area who need help?
I've pledged that my company will pay for the first week of meals and others are saying they will pay the additional costs to the club themselves, as the club isn't in the most robust financial health after this year anyway.

This week of politics and seeing some of the comments on here has spurred me to want to help more than I already was. We can all do more and if the people elected to lead the country won't help, then stuff it. The rest of us can do what we can. We shouldn't have to, but there we go.
And then you woke up.

That's fine. At least I am spending my time and money trying to help out.

You carry on throwing brickbats, the rest of us can treat them with the respect they deserve.

laugh One thing I'm not is insecure. Thanks for the amateur psych evaluation though.

Bitter ? Honestly ? Yes I suppose I am. Not on a personal level (I'm alright thanks, Jack) as you assert but I think events this year have shown politicians in a very bad light. The worst in a very long time actually, and that's saying something.
We deserve much, much better.

Does any of this register with you or would you like me to write it in crayon for you ?
Simply put, you're wrong (you usually are) and you're looking for a fight. Again.
I learned a long time ago that there is no point arguing with stupid people.
If you actually have anything to say, rather than launching into a personal attack, then say it.
Until then, thank you and goodnight.
Point proven.

Thanks.

Unfortunately, people see what they want to see.

On this latest debate, there have been (many) more posts from Ifor, Red4, Piha, and Stewie telling you what my stance is than I have actually posted on the subject. Needless to say, they're not very accurate, or pleasant. Ifor is currently trying to "out charity" me. If you think that's the behaviour of normal people, why should I try to convince you otherwise?

Yes, I'm aware they operate a charity.

Nice that they see some benefit in participating in free food. If I was suspicious of their motives I would ask where were they six months ago, or 12 or 24 when there were also hungry kids about.
Mostly supporting sick children in hospital and their families. McD's via their charity give out £8m p/a.

You could argue it shouldn't fall to corporates and charities to ensure kids are actually fed properly with a decent quality meal once a day in a wealthy society. The politics of this are shameful and have been for decades.

And yet, this seemingly happens to you on every single subject in the thread.

You remind me of an old Uni friend who could never understand why every time he went out, someone started a fight with him. He just never figured out what the common factor was.

That simply isn't true. This thread goes in cycles but you are regularly told by many posters that your posts do not show you in a good light.
That is because of what you say - your stance in other words. Nobody puts words into your mouth but you are keen to put words into the mouths of others.

On another note I appear to have acquired my very own pet internet stalker.

The most obvious move of a desperate individual. Deflection won’t save you I’m afraid. Time to face up to the facts your sad agenda against authority is based on your own failings and a deep jealousy of others smile

OK, humour me ddom.

Why do you think I have problems with authority ?

What do you think I am jealous about ?

I know you're just trolling here BTW, but it's a slow night on here.

Not slow enough to make me start a thread on people slowing down to look at RTCs on the opposite carriageway of the motorway (like you), but slow nevertheless.

Not really. We've covered three issues this week, and two of them passed without great controversy. This last one has been a different kettle of fish though - not only completely untrue claims about my beliefs, but also suggestions I'm mentally unwell, deplorable and so on. I'm beginning to suspect certain posters bear a bit of a grudge about something... what do you think?

A Big Mac and fries is a decent quality meal?

The politics of this is that free money is provided to parents to feed their children. If the children are hungry that's a poor parenting issue not a funding issue.

And there are hungry children of parents who don't receive free money from the government too. Are McDonalds or Rashford going to feed them?

Splinters appearing at the top table. Against Boris' wishes, Sunak has refused to commit to the normal 3 year spending review, and instead this week told Boris he will only do a 12 month one. Then this decision was immediately leaked to the FT, according to the Telegraph.

If the PM can't get his own chancellor to commit to the things he wants, we have a problem.

And now Boris has gone soft on immigration, at least compared to Theresa May. In an unannounced change he has lowered the minimum salary for unskilled migrants to be able to settle in the country from £35k down to £25k.

No idea why he would try to introduce that on the QT...

Nice to see Marcus Rashford on the front page of the BBC.

Good lad.

Meanwhile I think this is satire but in these strange times it's increasingly hard to be sure.
