Mark, indeed, it is all very frustrating, and i don't pretend i am unaffected by it (family etc), but, as i have said before, unless people are going to carry out a serious protest and revolt, it is all hot air, bluster and internet big balls.

Many posters on here are very vocal about resisting and sticking it to da man, but at the end of the day they probably carry on and comply anyway when they are out and about.

Second lockdown? I fking hope not as i have younger members of my family who would be affected by it, with potential issues as a result.

So, whilst the likes of Gary and the like think i am troll etc etc, they haven't got a fking clue about me, or my life (except the bits i have posted about biggrin ).

Top marks Alucidnation and I take my hat off to you.

But if i may say, I see you as a barometer of the way this has swung, before nearly everyone was in favour of more lockdowns and the government is right etc, etc. But now the masses are getting tired of this all and can see that the government hasn't got a clue.

Like Elysium said a long time ago. this is a race between the vaccine and this virus burning its self out.

I can handle anything thrown at me and will continue to do so but when someone calls me a for saying something I never did (and i have certainly never labelled someone the same), I will say something about it.

Anyhoo,

As you were.

Colour me confused then because I could swear you were heavily pro lockdown from your posts? (Which relates to the throwing the under 50s under the bus)

Glad to have you on boardbeer (or do not want lockdown, just tier 3 everywhere?) scratchchin

What do you want? You must have an opinion, difficult though it no doubt is.

Just watching the 6pm news, and just noticed the infection rates are now listed as xx/10,000 rather than xx/100k.

When did that change take place?

No idea, but you can be assured that it was to suit a Government agenda to keep everyone st scared.

Seems to be a bet on to see who can tell the most outrageous lie before a newspaper or member of the press goes “hang on there a minute”
Pathetic.

I guess having the headline of per 10,000 sounds worse than per 100,000 for the mathematical challenged, even though the headline number is smaller!

Being shared and discussed on local Facebook page, accusation of Russia spreading fake info. Overwhelming support of this and everyone who thinks otherwise is a conspiracy nut

At best: compliance

At worst: division

The real question is why either is desirable. It's hard to answer without sounding like a conspiracy nut.

Any reasonable person seeing that would think ... “how many would flu kill without a vaccine?” Because that’s the only rational way to compare the two with regard to how deadly they are.

It's not unreasonable, but much the same could be cobbled up to the contrary, which would also be not unreasonable. Context, as ever.

Well whoever knocked that up it's cheap inaccurate propaganda designed to appeal to idiots.

So I'm surprised it doesn't say 'gov.uk' on it.

I was going to come on here tonight and ask for opinions on forming a true anti lockdown movement, however I see that there is something called Time for Recovery.

Does anyone know who is behind this and does it include any heavy hitters? Will it achieve anything, given the Great Barrington Declaration seems to have fallen by the wayside?

The Recovery campaign has Lord Sumption involved - he talked at the launch event and to my mind he needs to be front and centre of the campaign.

Birth wife and I have signed up and given a small donation to help out - more will probably follow if it gains more traction.

Have sent the link to all people I know who share similar views

I’m also looking for a movement to get behind, but I can’t offer my support, financial or otherwise, until I’m sure of the personalities in the background.

This outfit publish nothing on their site about that.

One would have to dig through the directors names available from Companies House ...

https://find-and-update.company-information.servic...

A couple of them appear to have directorships of other companies related to marketing and management consultancy.

Oh look, Imperial again. How is their vaccine coming along anyway? Needs a bit more time?
"cases are doubling every 9 days"

No they are not. The orange line is 26 day doubling of cases after correction for the number of tests.

Edited by Elysium on Thursday 29th October 17:01
No, you're doing it wrong. See where that most recent trough is? About 9 days ago? Take a line from there and lo and behold....
