They have a testing center near my work and are encouraging everyone to get tested along with the whole family.
Not a chance.
Family day out! Not a chance.
They’re encouraging all teachers in Scotland to get antibody tests every month. Not entirely sure why. Lots of my colleagues have had one and have no antibodies.
I’m keeping my blood.

so let me get this straight: i work my bks off my entire life to buy my own home, my salary income gets shut down and the only way I can live in shelter is to hand my home over in addition to which the only way i'll be able to feed myself or move around is if i regularly consent to an intravenous hardware update?
i must have this wrong, surely?
That article is just rubbish. Not going to happen, conspiracy garbage. So I wouldn't worry about it. i must have this wrong, surely?

I think that depends who wins. Some of the suggestions are truly dystopian. And these aren't fringe. A quarter of our cabinet attended the 2019 Davos 'summit'.i must have this wrong, surely?

I would welcome Isaldiri posting some of his own original thoughts and ideas rather than just being an ambush predator.
Ok i was going to leave it but I take issue with this.Ambush predator or not, i find manifestly false claims or extremly selective numbers jumping to absurd conclusions portrayed as the absolute truth generally exceptionally irritating and outright unhelpful to being able to have a sensible debate about the whole bloody mess. As have been some of the more grandiose claims of championing liberty vs evil.
You have been quite sensible and logical about the whole thing so far, far more so probably than I have. Do you really not see why I sometimes end up replying the way I do?
‘absurd conclusions portrayed as absolute truth’
‘manifestly false claims’
‘extremely selective numbers’
It’s also utter bks.
Please just give it a rest and be civil for a change.

Whilst its at the more extreme end, im resonably convinced some of it is coming. UBI by the end of next year id say if we stick to the current "suppress the virus at all and any costs." HMG will simply run out of viable options with a balloning unemployment situation. That side of things has barely got started.
Like you, ive worked my bks off my entire life and a few years from easing off. Then this happens. All for what? There will be nothing left, and i'll be working till i drop. Or trying to live off UBI.

I said something on one of the other threads, but quite frankly the govt need to put SAGE back in their box. They are scientific advisors and should not be dangling the carrot of Christmas to further their agenda and undermine the govt.Real leadership would slap them back down.

Graphs for today:
Finally, this is shows the percentage of all tests returning a positive result against the number of test processed. The trend of increased positivity with more tests is continuing. It should not correlate at all and definitely not this closely:
Something that has been bugging me for a while, why is there a clear increase in positivity in samples taken on mondays in October that wasn’t visible in September? Finally, this is shows the percentage of all tests returning a positive result against the number of test processed. Using specimen date should rule out tests from the weekend being reported on a monday.
Lots of people catching it at the weekend and getting tested monday?

Oh cmon Boris is just desperate not to do an Alan Rickman as the sheriff of Nottingham and be known as the person who cancelled Christmas. He's clearly going to be very very keen on doing whatever it takes to avoid..... No doubt just checking with focus groups first to be sure...Real leadership would slap them back down.

Does anyone have the source of the positive ‘cases’ by Pillar data?
Trying to see how many ‘cases’ are being found in hospitals and care homes.
Searching through the various dashboards but can’t seem to find it.
The tweet I posted from Heneghan earlier explores it, but I can’t find source data. It must exist somewhere for CEBM to analyse it though.Trying to see how many ‘cases’ are being found in hospitals and care homes.

Why the blistering fk would SAGE, a committee set up to advise Govt, be mounting a political campaign to garner support for a second lockdown to ‘save’ Christmas? If this story is true every last one of them should be fired.
However, I think it’s much more likely to be exploratory Govt propaganda. They want to know if we are ready to support them if they defy the scientists.
God I am tired of this bullst. These idiots pervading every aspect of our lives within relentless mediocrity.
They are beneath contempt.
BBC News - Covid: Tees Valley 'moving towards tier three restrictions'

So looks like part of the North East is heading towards tier 3 next week yet the article says that all areas within it have reported a decline in the number of cases in the last week?

https://www.england.nhs.uk/statistics/statistical-... Choose October 2020 Coronavirus publication, then look at the diagnoses sections. I think this is patients already in hospital who are diagnosed.
I got it from this CEBM article, which also discusses & has links to care home data https://www.cebm.net/covid-19/covid-19-care-homes/
Hopefully this is some of what you need
