Laurence Fox has always divided political opinion and got a lot of people wound up, at least on Twitter, by challenging what he sees as woke culture.

Now he's setting up his own political party he says is to stop culture wars.

Whilst we perhaps need to stand up to the virtue signallers of this world, is this party likely to be a flash in the pan racist party that might just help the left by taking away Tory support?

I would say he should stick to his ‘music’ career but having had the misfortune of hearing some of it maybe he’s better suited to a crackpot political party?

There’s a gap in politics for this kind of view, i thought farage might get back in the public eye with this kind of anti woke anti pc gone mad type stuff.

People into this are likely still voting based on brexit but when that’s all done, this might be the next big thing for reactionaries and others fed up with the modern world.

Parties of the centre tend not to do well in this country, however other countries thrive on having many political parties
and are happy to have almost permanent coalition governments.

Go for it Larry, more choice is good.

While I doubt he has much hope if his candidate is on the ballot next time I will vote for him instead of not voting

I saw him on QT. He wasn't the racist.

I doubt his party will get anywhere though.Very tricky for small new parties to get anywhere. Even the Brexit party which won a Euro election got knocked off by the Tories adopting much of their policy.

He'll get some votes from nutters and stupid people. Look at QAnon.

A waste of his time - but as mentioned, at least it hopefully stops him singing.

I think he is suffering from Twitter Echo Chamber - which is where he thinks he is more popular than he is just because a few thousand people support him on Twitter.

I agree. I dont dislike him and have some sympathy for his views. But I reckon he'll jack it all in as soon as get's to see the type of people he attracts.

Edited to say that it will be because of some of the people he attracts, not by any means all of them.

"Our modern United Kingdom was born out of the respectful inclusion of so many individual voices."

Presumably they won't be engaging with hateful divisive individuals such as Farage and Katie Hopkins?

I would disagree I think this country has 2 parties that are fighting over the centre ground.

I think he meant “parties off the centre” I.e.the more left or right don’t do well. Possibly.

Someone posted a link to the Equiano Project which seemed to be a group that wanted to discuss race in a more reasonable manner.

I think he'd do better helping to keep discussion open outside of party politics, so as not to become tainted by it, but to put pressure on the political parties to take note. I do see his point but I'm not sure it's worthy of a vote. It's an important issue but it'd be like a single issue party. Politicising the movement would make it divisive when it should really be a uniting force.
I do get the impression there's an appetite for his viewpoint in the Conservative Party.
So I'd say to him, keep asking questions, keep the discussion open in the MSM and alternative media, unite with others so it's not all on his shoulders and keep the pressure on.

Freedom of speech, non-biased institutions, preserving our shared culture... isn't this exactly what the Lib Dems should be fighting for, before they imploded on Brexit?

Why doesn't he join them instead, and realign their focus?
They lost their backing for supporting the increase in tutition fees.
