I seem to have missed over the years tributes to the annual death toll from Flu.

Once again the media is getting on my tits (ITV news this time) saying we’ve got a generation of young adults who are on the scrap heap and universities are failing them. What a load of bks.

Probably the most truthful thing that they have said in weeks, tbh.

Wonder what percentage of people between the ages of 47 and 99 don't have an underlying health condition?

A good point as nearly everyone has something wrong with them, & the probability increases with age.

What I wonder is how the percentage for this country compares to that of countries like Germany or Finland.

America 60% of all adults as having at least one underlying health condition according to CDCP. You'd like to think it's a bit lower here but of course gets worse the older you get so by 47 a very high percentage. And before you all claim to be Olympic athletes a lot of you have one but just don't know it yet.

Wouldn't it be ironic if we just wrote off the major part of the demographic that have the highest disposable income and will have to pay for all this. wink

22 million people in UK have at least one underlying health condition, near 9 million registered disabled.

For those who are ok with this disease saying this only kills the old and the sick, you sound a bit like the people who in the 80s said that AIDS "only killed the gays..."

It did. It's just that some of them didn't know they were gay.

I think it's likely to be badly received if I suggest what I'm thinking so I'm just going to work out those as a percentage

34% of the population have at least one underlying health condition

14% of the population are registered disabled

I'll just have to rely that nature has a way of sorting stuff out

For that to be relevant you’d have to break it down further, as in health conditions adversely affected by Covid...

Google have added a COVID-19 layer to their Maps app that shows cases per 100,000 by country.

It's quite interesting... and slightly unbelievable in places.
