Just because the majority on here clearly hate Trump doesn't mean that addressing the laptop and other Biden family "issues" should get a free ride. The fact that Biden has not made a categoric specific statement saying the laptop and emails are fake is very telling. He also previously denied meeting Hunters boss and now can't recall....... It is also clear that the media are trying to slow the spread of the story as long as possible as they perceive early voters will vote Democrat.

Democrats need to be careful as behavior likes this gives credence to Republican claims the media is choosing the election. This is why so few people trust the media and polling may be inaccurate leading to the election.

Before you all attack me for daring to question Biden read this link by a liberal leaning NBC commentator who doesn't even think Biden's response is adequate or kosher:

https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opinion/trump-s-atta...

Personally I think this will hurt Biden even if he gets elected as there is clearly some unethical behaviour at a minimum and its beginning to look like the Trump impeachment was done partially to cover for Biden.

The problem with taking the Biden laptop story seriously is that you have to ignore some serious flaws in the story. Why would someone take 3 laptops 3000 miles away from home, especially as Hunter Biden would have a support contract meaning someone comes to him.

Secondly we have to ignore that the hard drive was manufactured six days after it was sold. We do know exactly when the hard drive was manufactured from it's serial number, also the hard drive is a Western Digital, these are manufactured in Thailand, so a disk made it all the way from Thailand to the US six days before it's manufacture.

Thirdly, it was a SSD, this means that recovery methods do not work on them as they write randomly, when the controller dies the order in which the data is stored is gone. Once an SSD is dead, it's dead Jim.

Forthly, Mac's encrypt by default. Have done for years.

Finally, the person who took the laptops has said that he cannot identify that it was actually Hunter Biden because he is legally blind.

Questioning the narrative is good... as long as you're actually questioning the presented evidence and not just looking to advance a conspiracy theory.

Biden is doing the right thing by dismissing this as the poor attempt to pull a Comey and this time it's not working. Everyone and his dog expected Trump to pull something like this, we knew it was going to be around Hunter Biden. We're not even surprised at how poorly it was done (well, Trump has fired every competent person from his 2016 team).

Biden would be validating this nonsense just by giving it the wind of his fart, so he's smart not to.

Why doesn't Biden just come out and say the emails are not real and he didn't ever meet the guy? That would finish the discussion and end this (if true). Instead we get a smokescreen and avoidence. Until Biden steps up and makes a definitive statement people are going to believe its true. If it was the other way round the media would be hounding Trump non stop and dissecting every bit of the story. Its clear media are aiding the Biden campaign in delaying for some reason that we can only imagine.

Not covering the story only plays into Trump's hands.

You’re completely wrong. Trump is trying the same thing that he did with Hillary’s emails, concoct a story about nothing. It gets the hard of thinking all riled up and excited and Hillary responding/denying just made a non-story into the main focus. He also had Benghazi and Pizzagate as backups.

Biden’s doing exactly the right thing and avoiding the bullst storm that Trump is trying to whip up. The media can see it for what it is and they’re refusing to play into trump’s hands by reporting it.

Trump needs a distraction from the 230,000 dead and the 20 million unemployed. HB’s emails aren’t working so I’m sure something else will magically materialise between now and next Tuesday.

Yes. That’s exactly why Trump and Trump Jr are whinging like spoilt kids on Twitter, because the media are doing EXACTLY what they want.

Nice deflection but its not going to go away so easily. This thread is about whether the media are doing their job impartially. Biden hiding, shouting when asked and not answering the questions regarding these emails and relationships is clearly going to hurt him as it smacks of a cover up. Media are clearly biased as non partisan people can see. Media are not pushing Biden to answer the way they would Trump. Either way the news is getting out.

Do you really believe the laptop is made up and the emails fake? Do you really believe the Biden's relationship with Burisma was ethical for a sitting VP ? If you believe this then why won't your candidate say so and shut this down? Why don't the media ask him directly ?

People know Biden dropped out of running before over the plagiarism issues and he is not some "stand up guy" he is just another politician who has spent 47 years in politics playing the same games as the rest of them. His family (brothers/son) have amassed great wealth since he became VP.

In the USA, there is no requirement to even attempt to be balanced, since the 'Fairness Doctrine' was removed in 1987. So we get 'state TV' Fox 'News', and towards the other end, such offerings as MSNBC.

I must say though, after spending 18 years in the USA, I've never considered the big names on MSNBC and CNN, such as Anderson Cooper and Brian Williams, to be anything like as extremist as the crackpots you see like Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson on Fox.

Facebook admits it approved hundreds of Trump ads this week that violate its pre-election rules, approved after the moratorium was supposed to be in place

I think CNN have veered crazy left in the last few years under Zucker. Ironic in a way as without Trump CNN would be dead for ratings. NPR also further left and takes mainly BBC news feeds. Fox is beginning to look middle of the road!

The tech companies are the real threat now as they are clearly parsing news outlets to suit their agenda as in the case of Biden's emails. Another example is yahoo news which pretty much only reports the Guardian or Independent's stories if I search from US. Bloomberg also on record telling his staff to lean Democrat which is truly shocking as it always was a business channel you could trust and most large companies use their terminals. I think its time for anti trust investigations to break up some of these media companies. Bezos owning the Washington Post is bad enough but latest rumors are he is looking to buy CNN. Doesn't take a genius to figure out by hying Covid in the Washington Post for example indirectly Amazon makes billions........

We certainly are living in 'interesting times'!

I recently watched the three-part documentary about Rupert Murdoch and was flabbergasted at just how much power and influence it is possible for one person to have. Basically, I agree with you. It's not right.

And STILL the main point sails over the heads of some, there are those who want to argue if it`s media bias while others want to dissect the story based on nonsense.

Yes it is 3000 miles away from where he lives, but 10 mins from his parents.

The guy is blind so can not swear it was Hunter, but then he has a signed recite with contact phone number and e-mails address.

And on and on...

The story is that it has been censored by big tech, THEY decided you can not see it or discuss it in what has become "The market place" of modern times.

It has gone much further, those who know their way about the web will tell you there is a selective site take down that is unprecedented, with the sole aim of suppressing the contents of the lap tops.

If the laptop and emails suggesting meetings with Burisma are not real then Biden needs to say/make a statement to that effect and its end of story.

The media need to ask him robustly like they do with Trump on everything.

If neither happens then clearly Biden has something to hide and the media are giving him a pass so reinforcing opinion they are biased.

Its very disturbing with early voting taking place that the media are hiding/slowing information getting to the public. I understand why Biden and Democrats want to but media are at a new low.
