To be fair, the narcissistic thrill of watching her put a scratch in his box is unsurprising, given that Melania voting for him is probably the only intimate act that she’s likely to perform for him these days.

You have to admire that the USA can do elections.

Best ever.

I thought going into 2020 it would be nutz, then a little virus came along to make it more spicy

Almost there, and we are still at a simmer ....

I sometimes think the USA likes elections and voting rather than governing

That's by far and away the worst insult I've had on this forum.

I'd rather you just called me a .

America may be think its the greatest country on earth but it has some of the dumbest people
On the news last night there was an voxpops interview with some people, and one child, i'd estmate to be about 7, came out with the "coivid is a hoax started by the democrats" line. Now i'm pretty sure his sh*t for brains dad, sat next to him in his MAGA hat has put him up to saying that, but by god, it really doesn't look good for the average american does it.....

(his school should organise a day trip to the local morgue and play the "whats behind this door" game and see how many covid victims they can find........ )

What’s the thinking on the aftermath of results, and eventual nomination of the winning candidate. Can we expect more rioting as those objecting to the result exercise their first amendment rights? There are bound to be a few objectors, and they seem to like a demo.

ETA Speaking of which they could have reworded his spine tingling "America isnt the greatest" speech, but Jeff Daniels has done an ad for Biden in MI

Seeing as I only dip into US politics once every 4 years , it strikes me that while all the Trump haters are moaning, it never occurred to the Democrats to just come up with a better candidate.

They picked Hillary Clinton, who has to be the closest thing to the devil incarnate ( this side of Nancy Pelosi) last time, figured they could win with her and didn't .

So this time they choose 'the next worst available' .

When Obama ran , I didn't think ' where the fk did this clown come from ' , compared to old Magic trousers , he seemed a pretty good bet,but they sat on their laurels and didn't groom a proper replacement.

So when Trump wins again, the next 4 years will be spent grooming either Pence, or Donald JR , to keep the Dems and their poison out of the White House.

They had 4 years to formulate a plan, and they spent it all grizzling, I agree it shouldn't be hard to find someone to beat Trump, but again, they have.

Biden , who has already had 3 failed attempts, is so out of it, mentally, that it is embarrassing, and yet they are still convinced he will win,

I am hopeful that when he loses, he will be able to slope away and enjoy what is left of his brain in private, its not great to see, and its even worse to see it being covered up...

You have nobody to blame but yourself.

Either provide proof of the bet, admit you lied, or forever be known here as a massive thundertwunt.

You can change your PH name again - as you do on a regular basis - but that thundertwuntery stuff sticks like glue.

I've just heard that Trump said at a rally tonight that Biden will be assassinated just weeks into his presidency yikes

Does anyone know if that's real, or just real 'fake news'? I'm searching but can't find anything!

Calm down. Christ, this place really brings out the pricks. You've actually spent time rifling through my profile, how monumentally sad and quite revealing. I have changed my username from time from time for the simple reason I've never really gelled with it. I've kept this one for a while, but that doesn't fit with your narrative. Next you'll be questioning why I don't have any cars in my garage, don't worry i have a legitimate reason for that, too..

"Provide proof of your bet" who the fk do you think you are? I bet (haha) you've been sitting there waiting all day for it, again rather sad (becoming a theme here). A rather sad image of you there ready to wk yourself silly over it with other posters. No, thanks. Don't need to prove anything. The only reason I brought it up was that I am that confident of Trump winning.

Interesting use of the word thundertwunt as it would the word I'd use to describe you. You didn't even realise that I wasn't supporting Trump you were too busy frothing at the mouth and tapping the keyboard.
Proof, retraction, or thundertwunt be thy name down through the remaining long ages of PH. Ask Welshbeef how that works.

There was no bet, and you are a lying fantasist. Prove me wrong. Please.

It doesn't sound so bonkers considering the 'stand down and stand by' comment Trump made to the Proud Boys.

It's a familiar pattern. "I'm not a trump supporter but" says something completely untrue or outrageous to gain attention, then cannot or refuses to back it up with any sort of proof.

Ignore them, live you would any other small child kicking and screaming on the floor of the supermarket. They only crave attention.

trump: "Suburban women, why don't you love me, please love me.."
Well....

Trump let Martha McSally speak for one minute. This is how he addressed her:

"Martha, just come up fast. Fast. Fast. Come on. Quick. You got one minute! One minute, Martha! They don't want to hear this, Martha. Come on. Let's go. Quick, quick, quick."

President Donald Trump offered a not-very warm welcome to Sen. Martha McSally on Wednesday at his campaign rally in Arizona, where his fellow Republican is fighting to hold on to her seat.

After saying she was "respected by everybody" and "great," Trump rushed McSally to the stage at an airport rally in Goodyear to say a few words.

"Martha, just come up fast. Fast. Fast. Come on. Quick. You got one minute! One minute, Martha! They don’t want to hear this, Martha. Come on. Let’s go. Quick, quick, quick. Come on. Let’s go," Trump said.

McSally spoke for just over a minute, and said she was "proud" to work with the president — something a moderator could not get her say during her debate with Democratic challenger Mark Kelly earlier this month.

After McSally spoke, Trump called up a trio of politicians from out of state to speak — Sens. Rand Paul, of Kentucky, Mike Lee, of Utah, and Rep. Kevin McCarthy, of California. Of the three, only McCarthy is running for re-election in November. All spoke longer than McSally did — as did another guest speaker Trump called on, Nigel Farage of Britain's Brexit party. Trump did not rush any of those four.

Farage ffs.
Edit:Trump described Nigel Farage as "one of the most powerful people in Europe" at his rally in Arizona
and Farage returned the compliments

Voter obstruction in Texas

whats this now, the 6th or 7th attempt to restrict voting by the gOP in Texas?

A new challenge to Harris County's drive-thru voting sites, filed by two GOP candidates and a Republican member of the Texas House, asks the Texas Supreme Court to void ballots cast by voters in cars.
https://www.statesman.com/news/20201028/new-challe...

Not surprising their efforts as The Cook Political Report has moved Texas from "lean Republican" to "toss up" for the presidential race.
https://cookpolitical.com/analysis/national/nation...

Just one of the many efforts by trump and the GOP to stop people voting
The Supreme Court will not expedite a Republican request to stop an extended deadline in Pennsylvania for receiving mail-in ballots. The decision was 5-3. Justice Barrett did not participate in the case.

Olivia Troye, a former senior staff member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, tells Lawrence O'Donnell she had tears in her eyes when she voted for a Democrat for president for the first time in her life.
Olivia Troye: "I voted for a straight Democratic ticket, something that I've never done in my entire voting life ... Walking out of there, I had tears in my eyes because I was thinking I'm doing everything I can to change what is happening to our country."
