Buy a holiday and get a free jab? scratchchin That could actually be appealing for people from Australia and New Zealand who want to visit the UK. They aren't infected and their own domedtic program lags the UK.

Get to the point where you're calling last orders on your own lot first though to avoid any public resentment.

If we get some warmer weather and long hours you could have lots of folk going to get theirs after work
If they can get to a point where vaccine supply is not the limiting factor a more open approach might be worthwhile at starmtio s with lower volume.

1million a day could well be a possibility into march.

Yep specially when it drops down into the bulk of the working population with the 9-5 type jobs or shift work hopefully the supply meets the potential output set up. We know 600,000 has been done and that was end of jan still with the hardest to reach group so nothing to suggest a million a day isn't out of the question.

If there's a choice I'd rather we boxed up any spare vaccines and put them in the post rather than having thousands of extra potentially infected people landing here.
It might be easier to arrange too.

Maybe your friends are all as brainy as you and not so inclined to believe what they're reading in the press or indeed are being told by the authorities.
It’s likely. Most of my friends are from university or from work, so they nearly all have at least one good degree, and all will be taking whatever vaccine they are offered.

It's the others we have to worry about.

I think the Sputnik one is an inactivated virus. The others instruct the body to make a protein which is the same as part of the covid virus. The immune system then reacts to this.

Almost 24 hours since I had my first Pfizer shot. I feel no side effects whatsoever. Other than slight tenderness at the site of the injection......

.....and the very recently discovered ability to leap tall buildings in a single bound.

All of the normal testing has been done. What it isn't is an old vaccine with a long track record of general use, but then none of them are when they are new!

I had the AZ jab last Friday. Didn't feel a scratch, no soreness or bruising, no after effects. I want my money back.

Zero of my continental friends (France, Germany, Sweden, Netherlands) think AZ is ineffective. They all want to be vaccinated asap.
But of course that's just anecdotal.
Anecdotal, but interesting nonetheless. Where are they informing their views - their national media, UK media, peer group discussions ?
I've not asked, but I know they don't talk to each other because they are different circles of friends, so it's not like it's "one group". It's four groups.

Talking to a customer this morning, she told me that the local "super centre" (Stithians Showground in Cornwall) was now taking bookings for anyone over 60.

I've just booked online via the NHS website - Saturday afternoon. Plenty of appointments available.

No idea why this isn't being advertised.

it's not perfect - but is a reasonable presentation of the current situation and it is updated as and when things change

I doubt if any EU nations are going to end up vaccinating their population as quickly as we do
Which is why we should bring them over and vaccinate them. Not only would it show the Europedians that we don't hate them it would be a boost to the economy.
Whilst they were over they would spend money in the shops thereby boosting the money going into shops and restaurants.

Then if (and I know it's a big if) we decide we want to be part of Europe again and rejoin the EU they would know that we are really likeable folk
I know it sounds a ridiculous idea but it may well be LibDem policy next month
Pedant alert, we have not left Europe.

THings must be going really well around here (Chippenham, Wiltshire) as my wife has an appointment for next week and she's 38 (but with a heart murmur).

I'll be sure to time her 5ks and Microsoft buying habits before & after!
