Were we? I don't remember that.
The actual fk?

First country in the world to start vaccination and still miles ahead of every other big country (depends if you think Israel's 9m counts).

Has this quote been taken out of context or is RiseUp just badly misinformed?
I was referring to the daily numbers when it was first rolled out. It took several weeks to start pumping out the massive numbers we see today.

Hence, Australia can hopefully ramp up numbers too because 6,000 a day isn't going to do diddly.

Your "slow out of the blocks" is actually a world-leading figure.
Maybe learn some English? Ta.

Most countries haven't yet found their way to the running track.

Having posted yesterday to say I’d heard nothing, turns out I’d been put in the wrong group - a text arrived within an hour, booked for today 11:00-11:10, walked up at 11:00 on the dot and was walking out at 11:04. Very impressed with the whole thing.

I can only assume his comment was aimed at the very beginning when we 'only' had a handful of large scale vaccine sites for the public and not all hospitals able to vaccinate staff. Wasn't this due to the logistics of the Pfizer jab needing to be kept at -60 and waiting for the AZ supply to be ramped up?

Slow out the blocks seems unfair though, within a few weeks where we are (Aylesbury) had a large scale NHS vaccine site in a stadium and a pharmacy vaccine site in a local cinema, we now have a local university as a large scale site and this is just an average sized town.

The national site has just allowed my wife & I to book both appointments. 58 & 56 no underlying conditions. It didn't allow a couple of days ago so must have changed very recently. Recommend anyone mid 50s gives it a go.

Front page has not yet been updated and says over 60s only.

We, early 60's, booked last week when it was showing over 65's. We'd been told it was OK to book.

GP surgery called today to make sure we'd either had the jab or got it booked (we had it yesterday).

The UK averaged around 20,000 doses a day during Week 1 of vaccine rollout. That’s hardly slow out of the blocks, it’s significantly better than any other country that I’m aware of.

I took a phone call from our GP for Wifey just now - obviously they wouldn't discuss it so I passed the message on to her at work. She is really fit oooh err! Under 50 (i really must double check so as not to miss the big one). Things are really moving quickly here in Wales.

Me too. I’d love to see consistent numbers over 500k, even on Mondays, hopefully that’s not setting my sights too high, 1m a day would be incredible.

Just acted on this - thanks for posting. I now have mine booked (56, no underlying conditions) - choice of about 10 places all within 10 miles. Went for the one with the easiest parking.

Hmm, not eligible to book. I'm 55. Maybe its postcode dependent?

At 61 I had my first Pfizer jab last week. Since then I've received an NHS invite and one from UCHL where I'm part of a new MRI scanner trial. The latter even informed me that I'd receive the AZ vaccine.

They've got me well and truly covered. hehe

Lets me book and I am only 38? I had to say no to an appointment earlier this week when doctor called me. Should it allow anyone to just book?

Dunno what's happened there, let me book both appointments, doctor never offered that when they called this week and I had to decline! Anyway, booked in 1/3 mile away at Morrisons Super Vaccine Centre for 25 March and 10 June.

I booked my Wife's after I posted - she's 55 - booked it no problem. Mind you, she is 56 in 5 days.

Must be postcode then, I am in NW Surrey (and also closer to 56 than 55)
