Given prior infection is at least as likely as vaccination to reduce severe disease, isn't it at least plausible that perhaps prior infection should be a larger consideration in people up to age 50 (~15-20% of the population) to be able to swap vaccines like for the under 30s given it's pointing at the viral vector delivery that is cause of the clots....?

Indeed. As with most politicians, it’s always something/someone else that was at fault.

Horrible man
That's something I do agree with, one of the most odious people to ever be involved with British politics.

Sky News reports Tony Blair wading in to say there's no excuse for dodging the vaccine.

Millions pick up the phone to cancel their appointments...hehe

He does look as though he's about to keel over, doesn't he?
He certainly looks a shadow of his former self - probably the frustration of nobody listening to him for 20 years.
Might be the guilt of sending good men to their death
Doubt it. Must have been someone else's fault surely?
God told him to do it.
He believed he was doing the right thing. Such a tricky/sneaky/clever argument. Hard to counter.

That was Blair’s “skill”. He was very good at convincing people that what he was doing was the best thing for them. All politicians do it and although some are fairly obvious, others (Blair) are very good at hiding their real agenda.

Good numbers considering we are supposed to be supply constrained.

Scotland has hardly done any 1st doses for days now. I was 50 at Easter and haven't been offered a jab yet.

Question chaps, I got my first AZ jab back on February 2nd so obviously my 12 weeks is nearly up but I’ve heard nothing since then about the second one, should I start chasing at the GP?
I'd chase first thing in the morning. If you had the first one at the start of Feb you are close to the top of the priority list, and you now need your second asap.
Turned into a bit of a runaround between my GP in the end but booked in Tuesday evening.

Apparently there are two NHS records with my name and birthday, also very similar postcodes but registered to different GPs and the other record had no phone number or address against it and apparently that meant my second jab contact hadn’t appeared properly.

Glitch in the Matrix it seems.

Ah.... so worth chasing then, as it sounds like would never have been fixed without some intervention. Glad to hear you got it sorted.

Can you not book it yourself in Scotland? Last Tuesday (in England, anyway) it was opened up to 45-49 year olds. I logged into the NHS website and booked myself a jab for the Thursday morning, and at the same time was automatically offered a booking for the second jab very early in July.

It was only yesterday, 10 days later, that a letter arrived inviting me to do exactly that.

Nope we don’t have anything sensible like that. We have a help line that seems to be there purely to say “computer said no”. If you want to complain it takes two weeks, if you want an investigation because you think you have been missed it takes six weeks.

I drove past my local village hall last night at 8pm (picking my wife up after her long lunch in London!) and they were still busy vaccinating people, with marshals in the car park and lots of cars.
