I cannot imagine why anybody would want to book or go on a holiday in Scotland at the moment. I can only guess that England was fully booked.
Scenery, weather has been decent (honest!), whisky, lovely people, golf courses, brilliant roads, cuisine and culture, etc etc etc Vanden Saab said:

Are you serious? Can you explain your post? What don't you like? Genuinely intersted, I am lucky enough to live here and can think of few places that tick so many boxes as a holiday destination. It seems quite popular with people the world over. biggbn said:

On Friday a crack team of See You Jimmy Hat wearers fled the country despite Madame Naw telling them not to go, got ste-faced, made an arse of themselves sitting in the fountain at Trafalgar Square and took selfies with a confused mime artist. I don't get these scottish people who seem to go out of their way to show their disregard for their own country.TBH I don't care about either party and Madame Naw can take a running jump telling people what to do in their spare time, but whoever wrote that simpering whine about Ross is a massive roaster.

The whole Manchester fiasco just shows the utter contempt Sturgeon and the SNP government have for anyone and everything that isn't part of their cause (whatever that may actually be). It plays well to a lot of the core support by being keeping the filthy infectious English out (remember the scenes at the border last year and the othering blame game?), makes her look decisive and powerful as she dictates not only to the Scots but the English, and best of all, it's all in the name of Mammy keeping Scotland safe. Win, win, win... and to hell with those it impacts.
I suspect this is just the opening salvo in another summer of division. How long before the '4 nations approach' on travel is dumped? How long before anything and everything is blamed for COVID levels remaining stubbornly high in Scotland? COVID is truly the gift that keeps on giving.

I could easily book a hotel room in manchester using my mother in laws address in nottingham. As the cross border travel is still open what is there actually to stop me entering manchester ?
I have no plans to visit manchester in the near future but if she has done it to one region whats to stop her doing it to another region?

Obviously, if there is any evidence whatsoever of a single COVID case from Manchester, it will be shouted from the rooftops and held up as why Mammy was correct and it's all the fault of the filthy infectious English, and the selfish people (probably Tories obvs) who ignored her. (Whilst simultaneously and hypocritically ignoring all the local cases, see Dundee etc. and other potential infection vectors.)
