Pretty meaningless. Does he even practice? Is he still Trumps lawyer?

He's been suspended because of his actions as a practising lawyer, promoting the big lie in court. https://www.thenation.com/article/politics/disbar-...

Yes but he only had 1 client.

Does Trump retain him anymore?

OAN calling for the execution of those trying to take away and affect the voting in american elections, trying to further incite and provote violence in support of trumps Big Lie.
https://twitter.com/i/status/1407925243000365057

One suspects they mean to address their fake voting claims, trumps Big Lie, but so far it's trump, his lawyers, and his supporters that are all guilty of trying to overthrow a valid election. OAN needs to think this through...
I was reading about this a little while ago.

OAN have come full circle, I guess they need some ‘shock jocks’ to keep their numbers up. This, however, is astonishing.
All it needs is for one good ‘ol boy to to take them literally and it starts all over again.

More DeSantis news- Florida has just signed into law a bill mandating that professors, faculty staff and students at public universities register their political views with the state as part of a drive to legally "enforce" "intellectual diversity" in education. Institutions that are judged by the Republican-led legislature to have not provided satisfactory responses being stripped or funding.

https://www.salon.com/2021/06/23/desantis-signs-bi...

Of course, it's the religious right pushing for the legislation under the guise of "intellectual diversity", when in reality their own words suggest the primary aim and interest is to preserve and maintain Christian right-wing traditionalism and orthodoxy. Next stop? Grades K-12.
Welcome to the "land of the free". The state has no right in knowing your political affiliation except for when you cast your vote - this stinks of potential future witch hunts and the logical next step of replacing Democrat voters with Republican voters whenever appointing vacancies.

Margaret Atwoods Gilead was a dystopian future USA for most readers, but is seemingly a future preferred state for some Republicans.

The problem with this act though, is that all it takes is for every person in the system to claim to be a republican and the data becomes useless. You can ask people what their affiliation is, but you can't force them to tell you the truth. Expect McCarthy-esque witch hunts to follow on shortly.

Some Republicans really are sts.

Every time I look at Guiliani I just scratch my head and wonder how it came to this for him.

Totally deserved but what may be behind it seems quite sad really.

I agree with this; I can recall when he was a credible and apparently effective lawyer. Sad indeed that he has been washed up in Trumps dirty laundry

Plus it shows what kind of intelectual giant he is when he allowed himself to be caught in the Borat wind-up.

NY Times has the story here:

https://www.nytimes.com/2021/06/24/nyregion/giulia...

Is it OK if we quote from the court document? I'm assuming this is OK because PH has taken direct quotes from the Porsche press release in this article
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

I typed these out from the 33 page court document...
https://edition.cnn.com/2021/06/24/politics/read-g...

Giuliani Decision: "We conclude that there is uncontroverted evidence that respondent communicated demonstrably false and misleading statements to courts, lawmakers and the public at large in his capacity as lawyer for former President Donald J. Trump and the Trump campaign."

"When those false statements are made by an attorney, it also erodes the public's confidence in the integrity of attorneys admitted to our bar and damages the profession's role as a crucial source of reliable information."

"We conclude that respondent's conduct immediately threatens the public interest and warrants interim suspension from the practice of law, pending further proceedings before the Attorney Grievance Committee."

"We find that there is evidence of continuing misconduct, the underlying offense is incredibly serious, and the uncontroverted misconduct in itself will likely result in substantial permanent sanctions at the conclusion of these disciplinary proceedings."

Great, now let them go after all the other trump lawyers, specifically Jenna Ellis & Sydney Kraken Powell

Edit: Giuliani's defence was by trying to claim first amendment rights, but that surely doesn't work if he's first sworn " I solemnly, sincerely and truly declare and affirm that I will tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth"

It's a suspension as well. Giuliani’s lawyers told the press that they believe that he will be reinstated as “a valued member of the legal profession that he has served so well.” Remember he is still under multiple investigations for his Ukraine dealings, and pushing trumps Big Lie is other courts

Also George Conway on TV said to Anderson Cooper.
"he's never going to see the inside of a courtroom again, other than as a defendant."

Video of the interview here: https://youtu.be/DqEn8PyjNGA

Edit 2: Just noticed on Page 32
"It is further Ordered that Mr. Giuliani is commanded to desist and refrain from the practice of law in any form...and respondent is forbidden to give another an opinion as to the law or its application or advice in relation thereto."

So he can't go onto TV or Steve Bannons podcast etc and spout his usual rubbish?

Giuliani responded on twitter to the disciplinary ruling by retweeting messages disparaging the court from his son and Donald Trump’s spokeswoman.

Still the arrests keep coming, this time Geoffrey Sills from Mechanicsville Virginia who “repeatedly struck multiple police officers with an extended baton while using a strobe light, apparently to try to disorient the officers."

The District of Columbia AG press release about this is here:

Geoffrey Sills was known to SeditionHunters as EmoNazi (FBI153).

AG Merrick has released a statement, over 500 arrests now, and the 100th arrest of assaulting a law enforcement officer (FBI release said 465 and 130)
His statement is available to read here:

The event will be co-sponsored by the Republican Party of Florida, which is chaired by state Senator Joe Gruters of Sarasota. Gruters was one of the original Florida supporters of trump

Arizona Fraudit news - more costs incurred.

The Arizona Secretary of State, the state’s chief elections officer, told Maricopa County that it should replace all voting machines that were turned over to Cyber Ninjas for the audit, citing “grave concerns regarding the security and integrity” of the machines that would prevent them from being used in future elections.

She said that no election official or observer was allowed to be present when Cyber Ninjas and its subcontractors “examined” the machines and that they had to sue to be given access to observe the recount. Democratic and Republican observers were not allowed at each table to observe the counting, unlike in real election audits

Remember the votes and machines are now in a barn in Montana on the property of the Cyber Ninjas owner

Utterly extraordinary that that was allowed to happen in the first place.

As pointed out above, PH writers copied and posted quotes from the Porsche press release, so I'm guessing quotes are OK?
It's a bit of a mess and I'm trying to steer around some Mods interpretations on Rule 16 (i.e. it doesn't mention a ban, only content removal wink ) whilst trying to give some information on the story.

When the court (or someone?) turns around and states something about someone, one should be able to quote what was said as an accurate record. Should I only have said Guiliani was accused of lying, rather than:
"We conclude that there is uncontroverted evidence that respondent communicated demonstrably false and misleading statements to courts, lawmakers and the public at large in his capacity as lawyer for former President Donald J. Trump and the Trump campaign."

Same as the Conway quote, a tiny snippet followed by the actual video of the interview...

I'm trying hard to be compliant
