I think trump might win. Not because he is a good president but because Joe Biden is disliked by many and not as articulate / slippery as trump so in presidential debates might not look as good. Who will be Trumps running mate (assume Taylor Green is too mental even for him)

Well we could dispute how poor trump's previous presidency was. I agree with this. But. it's going to be trump against Biden, assuming trump avoids incarceration. Both are too old, both have their doddery moments. Only one has attempted to end the democratic process in the USA, and would unhesitantly seek to do so again.

When is that coming? I feel like certain people have been talking excitedly for the last 4 years how Trump is imminently going to end up behind bars.

Yet still walks around a free man and about to run for presidency.

Hopefully the court case will enable you to assess the evidence for yourself. The question is whether trump will manage to delay it until after he has the chance to get elected and try to pardon himself. But what's already in the public domain looks seriously damning for trump. I suspect when we see the case in its entirety it gonna be properly outrageous.

If so, would you mind explaining why apart from something utterly inane like sticking it to the woke, the left, etc.

So far he had two civil cases and lost both, the E Jean Carroll rape case and the NYC case where he's been dishonesty inflating property values, etc.

But yes, the fact that he is in a position to run for office is quite surreal.

SO I am not a Trump supporter but I can see why he might get elected. Think of it like the UK GE where Boris Johnson Beat Jeremy Corbyn. Boris was not the best guy it was more a case of many more people disliked corbyn's ideas.

The other issue is that during recent election campaigns racial tensions have been stoked to try and encourage minority groups to show up and vote.

George Floyd was a catalyst for BLM in 2020 and Dems saw an opportunity by appointing Kamala to show how inclusive they are. Whereas Republicans / Trump are the racists and "look at what a mess this country is in!"

The option to use an example of police brutality / structural racism isn't there this campaign because the voters will turn around and say "you had a whole term and it's under your watch!"

So in summary: it will be interesting to see whether voter turnout in the ethnic minorities is as high last time, or if they are now more apathetic.

Either way, I would not be surprised if Biden / Democrats make claims that Trump is racist. It would be a bit of an own goal though as Biden has some interesting quotes from his past as well.
