Trump 2024!
I worry about some people's mental health on here if he is elected.
It's not quite so funny if you have family, work connections and other interests in the USA.I worry about some people's mental health on here if he is elected.

Individual states passing laws wrt to abortion are a matter for the state concerned rather than the president.
The situation has arisen a direct result of trump's actions, and he has taken 'credit' for that fact on more than occasion.isaldiri said:
Again, I can only repeat, lots of people cried wolf about how terrible everything would be under trump in 2016. All those dire predictions didn't really turn out as claimed as much as some if not many might have hoped that they would come true to be proven right. Doing so again and cranking up the predictions to be even more dire isn't obviously terribly convincing as much as Trump might be a lousy example of a human being.
Well we could dispute how poor trump's previous presidency was. But what's indisputable is that since then, his mental state is even more unstable, he's openly discussing attempting to amend the constitution to stay in office, and has refused to directly reject the concern that he intends to become a dictator. Some of his cult, astonishingly, are openly welcoming the idea.Roderick Spode said:
It would be genuinely refreshing if the US could find candidates who aren't either oblivious octogenarians nor those with enormous actual or perceived baggage who strongly polarise the populace. The country deserves a pair of younger candidates to revitalise the political spectrum.
I agree with this. But. it's going to be trump against Biden, assuming trump avoids incarceration. Both are too old, both have their doddery moments. Only one has attempted to end the democratic process in the USA, and would unhesitantly seek to do so again.g4ry13 said:

Would be happy to hear more on the appropriate thread.

I've been banned on the #46 thread for over a year. If you make a vol.2 i'd be happy to contribute
Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. It's rather a quiet thread actually, From time to time someone will pop in and say Biden doesn't know what his own name is, or something similarly hilarious, and then it's tumbleweeds again.paulguitar said:

When is that coming? I feel like certain people have been talking excitedly for the last 4 years how Trump is imminently going to end up behind bars.
Yet still walks around a free man and about to run for presidency.
We have not had the main court cases yet.Yet still walks around a free man and about to run for presidency.
So far he had two civil cases and lost both, the E Jean Carroll rape case and the NYC case where he's been dishonesty inflating property values, etc.
But yes, the fact that he is in a position to run for office is quite surreal.

Eugene V. Debs in 1920, and Lyndon LaRouche in 1992, both ran for President whilst behind bars.
The Constitution does allow it.

Wonder if Louis Theroux could get an interview with him from inside.

Are there people posting here who would genuinely like to see Trump as president again?
If so, would you mind explaining why apart from something utterly inane like sticking it to the woke, the left, etc.
SO I am not a Trump supporter but I can see why he might get elected. Think of it like the UK GE where Boris Johnson Beat Jeremy Corbyn. Boris was not the best guy it was more a case of many more people disliked corbyn's ideas. If so, would you mind explaining why apart from something utterly inane like sticking it to the woke, the left, etc.
Joe Biden might face the same challange people don't like him (F Joe biden chants etc), people dont like his son and people think Trump is like them (he is not).
So do I want him to win (I dont care really) no, but will he win, I can see it happening

George Floyd was a catalyst for BLM in 2020 and Dems saw an opportunity by appointing Kamala to show how inclusive they are. Whereas Republicans / Trump are the racists and "look at what a mess this country is in!"
The option to use an example of police brutality / structural racism isn't there this campaign because the voters will turn around and say "you had a whole term and it's under your watch!"
So in summary: it will be interesting to see whether voter turnout in the ethnic minorities is as high last time, or if they are now more apathetic.
Either way, I would not be surprised if Biden / Democrats make claims that Trump is racist. It would be a bit of an own goal though as Biden has some interesting quotes from his past as well.
