Well, Bob Hope is dead so I am channelling my inner Arthur Seaton.

To finish your narrative; David Cameron abused and misjudged the Brexit referendum for his own political gain and from there we all know how he lost control over the process resulting in a referendum in which the British public was illinformed; from red busses, sunlit uplands and the rest of the promises.
The referendum was lost the day it was called, your red buses, sunlit uplands and "promises" had nothing to do with it.

Do you honestly believe that anyone who voted to leave thought there was a masterplan of how it would work out once we'd left? All we knew was that we wanted to get out of the grip of the EU, once that was done it was up to us to sort out how it played out, which is what is happening.
Would love to know how your life has improved, now that your out of the grip of the EU.

Nonsense though - to trade with anyone we have to comply with their rules. We do not and never will have total autonomy if we wish to do a single thing outside our borders. To think otherwise is deluded beyond belief.
Regulatory compliance is a long, long way from equivalent to being ruled by another power.
We were never ruled by the EU.
EU, EC, ECHR, ECB, CAP etc. etc. etc.

If they had no authority over us, then what on earth is it that Brussels and Strasbourg actually do? Surely you are not saying "nothing"?

How, for example, did they prevent France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Portugal from ordering their own AZ vaccines?

Rule, control, call it what you will, but don;t deny it, because it is a ridiculous stance.
Can you please let me know now that I am free from the EU, EC, ECHR, ECB, CAP etc. etc. etc.
how has my life improved?

Proper yawn.

Have you seen how we run this country? Accountability is not something we do here.

Or even better, Ed Balls...

DC didn't stand. TM held her seat.

Ed though? One of the most beautiful moments in politics.

I think that they were more ready/resigned to it... But I'm happy to add them to the 'beautiful moments' list...

The one I remember vividly was David Mellor losing Putney and James Goldsmith leading the celebration.

Absolute demonstration that the Tories are consummate survivors as Brexit is something that should have destroyed them, but it's destroyed the Labour party instead.

I know some of the rules and regulations that the U.K. won’t be faced with now that we have left the EU. For example, EU level taxes to pay for their Covid bailout. .

If you wanted to leave the EU so we could leave the ECHR then I imagine you will remain disappointed for quite a while.

With all due respect, you do not know what that may be and how it would affect us.
I am asking you to name current rules that we are now free from .

If you are unable to see what’s right in front of your nose than that’s your issue. There is only one direction of travel for the EU and it’s not the way that most people in this country want to go.

Salmon's not what it was.

Oysters, brie, ski gear and vintage watches are the only game in town....
