That he may be but isn't it fascinating that despite the fact, the most the media and opposition can find to try and whip up a storm with is some petty nonsense over what he may / may not have said 6 months ago and where he gets his wallpaper from........

It's not the Opposition trying to whip up a storm - it's Johnson's enemies within his own party and their supporters beyond it.

Yep.

It’s a circular firing squad. Let’s hope it keeps going!

He was almost getting away with it with his mindless supporters sending in support. But then someone said in the midst of the covid crisis 100k + dead he decided to get his flat redocorated.
I guess he spends so much time loafing around in there he wants it nice.

The potential of leaving yourself open to bribery when you're the leader of a country is hardly petty, nor is announcing that the 'bodies can pile high'. Of course you could respond that we don't know the context/details yet, but whose fault is that? The theme of this government is obfuscation and a lack of transparency, they rely on people like you to consider the breaking of ministerial codes as 'petty', it allows them to ignore the rules and treat us all like idiots.

I really don't think the journalists are going to let this one go.

The lack of Downing Street to answer a very simple question and the language they use in doing so is baffling.

It's not baffling, just good old fashioned dishonesty.

It’s ridiculous arguing over Boris wallpaper when they still have the entire hospitality and travel industries on their knees for no apparent reason. I wish the press were quite as probing about that.

Careful what you wish for. There’s maybe one person left in the conservatives i’d even vaguely trust now and he ain’t in the shortlist to replace Boris.

Agreed.

It's a depressing state of affairs when football and furnishings are more important to the media and the twitterati than freedom and livelihoods.

We need a public enquiry.

I mean, the state of the place.

But that is "science" and we've got to "follow the science".

Quite simply (IMO) Boris bottled the big decision to put us into lockdown, and has now bottled the decision to come out.

There was a big thing made a few weeks ago when some EU nations were going back into lockdown about Easter time. What they failed to mention quite so loudly was that they had had few restrictions while we were in lockdown, and most countries are now back open again (indeed, Italy's was only 3 days!) while we are still here paying billions per month to keep people sat at home while only 17 people per day are dying within a month of having the disease.

So much for "learning to live with Covid".

The guy is spineless, will say whatever people think they want to hear, and is little more than a figurehead for whoever is pulling the strings behind him at any given point. Still I have no idea what he actually stands for.

That's how I imagine Grayson Perry's living room to look like.

It needs a Boris with sad face and Daily Mail sentence underneath it.
