Sunday morning seems to be a high point for screaming hysteria…
I do agree we should not ignore history though, just maybe take some time to understand it, before using it as yardstick?
Perhaps looking at previous pandemics, in order to understand the decisions being made, would be more relevant than Nazi Germany?
I think it's because they've all gone out on the piss the night before and had to wear a mask when walking to their table, so when hungover it's time to roll up your sleeves, attack the keyboard and everyone is Hitler.I do agree we should not ignore history though, just maybe take some time to understand it, before using it as yardstick?

The review of the use of Covid passports in England hasn't even been completed yet as it hasn't been published. Lots of people on here assuming it will bring in restrictions on those not vaccinated. The large event pilots such a Wimbledon have entry criteria where you are either fully vaccinated or have a negative lateral flow test within 48 hours of attending. Can't see that discriminates against the non vaccinated.
The Guardian suggests the whole thing is a damp squib and for domestic stuff it's just not going to happen: https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2021/jun/18/u...
Posters on here are complaining about something that hasn't been decided yet let alone implemented. As for employers requiring staff to get vaccinated; that's down to the employer. Employment tribunals and the courts will decide whether this is legal or not. I suspect they will decide it's not in a lot of cases.

In relation to the above, what are the thoughts of those on here in favour of masks about people following the rules and not wearing a mask due to exemption?
I'll open it up to everyone in favour of masks.
Feel free to buy a badge.I'll open it up to everyone in favour of masks.

No, I go to the counter and I prove my identity with my debit card and pin. No photo ID required.
Can't do that at my bank. Have to have photo ID for any large cash withdrawal.B'stard Child said:

The usual Piston Heads response I see. First accusation is being a troll, second accusation is having multiple accounts. Pathetic.

Tomorrow is the cancelled 'Freedom Day', as described in PH, Daily Mail, Telegraph & all the others. I note many comments here & in the online comments sections of the Mail/Telegraph saying that 'the muzzle will be ditched come what may' on 21/6/2021 & that all these commentators will refuse to wear them in shops etc henceforth. I was in my local Sainsburys yesterday, & there appeared to be pretty much 100% compliance: what will be compliance tomorrow? 100%? 90%? Or less than 50%? I'm guessing its all talk & no trousers.
I just did my grocery shopping without a mask. Only me and a young woman with a sunflower lanyard. Otherwise full compliance. It actually made me feel rather sad. People, at least where I am, seem content to let this rumble along.
In fact our local public health team have recommended reintroduction of masks in schools starting next week. A desperately sad thing for them to do on the original ‘freedom day’.
Sadly it does not seem there is any easy way back from here. Things that were unconscionable in the past (masks in schools) are now switched back on without any real thought for the consequences.
I think we will see compulsory vaccinations and that this will spread beyond the care sector into other public services.
We are, I think, in a very dark place as a nation.

Perhaps we could learn something from it.

I went to a Sainsbury's last night and after reading all the comments about people not bothering with masks i thought, fk it lets just go in.....
I was the only and i mean the only one with no mask, i could feel peoples stares burning me
So round here at least fear is still very high. to be fair this disease is killing hoards of under 30's though isn't it

So the vaccinated would be able to get on with their lives as normal, but the unvaccinated would need to pass tests that we know are imperfect in order to participate in society. Recent reports indicate 60% of LFDs are false positives cleared by confirmatory PCRs. A study just published suggests 50-75% of PCR positives are ‘post infectious’
And you can’t see anything discriminatory in this idea?

Look at the death rates across the UK.
Ask for freedom of information from your local authority for cremations in your area and the UK over the last 10 years.
Speak to the funeral homes and ask when the pandemic started for them, that might shock a few people.
