Sasha Johnson: Black Lives Matter activist critical after shooting, her political party says.
This has all the ingredients to begin a chain of violence. I certainly hope it doesn't....

Has all the ingredients for a PH thread where people try to outdo each other in displaying lack of empathy, schadenfreude, indirect racism and just being unpleasant human beings. Perhaps I’m being too cynical though.

Doubt this is the case.

"shot shortly before 03:00 at a gathering in Southwark."

Is this BBC language for falling out of a nightclub at 3am?

Very early morning march?

Hope she recovers and sacks off any further 3am gatherings

Sounds like a pretty standard club disagreement in that part of London.

Jumping to conclusions there.

London has plenty of non-political violence. So it could easily be a non-political dispute escalating into a shooting. Could easily be an internal BLM dispute as well.

I of course feel sorry that she has been the victim of violence. However 3am ? according to what I read she is a mother of two. What on earth is she doing 'out' at 3am ? and to be shot ? in a country with the strictest gunlaws in the western world. How could that happen ? no doubt her political party will use this as a way of voicing for even more gunlaw to be imposed on law abiding shooters.

Not cynical just projection of the qualities of the activist group(s) the victim is a member of, albeit if the racism weren't so indirect.

Shot outside a “house party” in Peckham

Op Trident are leading the investigation ( Met’s specialist black on black gun crime unit )

Some commentators seem to be politicising this already. Let’s hope it doesn’t get out of hand

You don’t spend much time in the inner London badlands methinks?

Trying for number three?

And I bet it wasn't a legally held gun that shot her.

Speculating that it would be a grim irony if she has been shot by someone from a demographic she has been trying to protect from the police isn't racism or schadenfreude.

It's more a world weary 'FFS'

London in the past few years really has started sounding like a no-go zone.

This incident will no doubt stir things up even more.

Just wait for the rest of the 'woke thread' gang to wake up. It will be wall to wall accusations of (non-existent) racism.

Surely a house party is only allowed to be 6 people, can't take too long to investigate.
