I’ve had some contact with colleagues deployed to G7. I think it’d be fair to say the catering isn’t haute cuisine…...

The last one doesn’t look so bad. Apparently it’d would’ve been good, had it even been just warm…
That's disgusting.

They should make all the politicians there eat the same stuff.

No excuse for that.

Food looks awful.

The pasty looks alright, I'm thinking it's a Warrens one by looking at it, not the best ones around.

Federation should have got catering standards sorted ahead of time

Mass catering is always tricky. Just keeping it hot is a bonus. That said the food is pretty shocking and some of the deployments don’t seem to make much sense. Some people are working 16 hour shifts, then travel an hour to the feed station, then an hour back to their accommodation for sleep/ablutions…

I know my own force couldn’t get enough volunteers for G7 (same with GMP, Police Scotland, Humberside, Merseyside, North Wales and Lancashire), so people were sent, whether they wanted to go or not.

A few years ago, the planning teams would have been oversubscribed with willing volunteers for mutual aid deployments. Nowadays most people don’t want to work cancelled rest days at time and a half or public holidays at double time.

Don't forget when Bigends was in the job, in between being a traffic expert, CID, Stop search expert, crime recording guru, trainer and all round expert on everything, he was the catering advisor as well.

How true. I would have thought a trip to Philps might have been in order. Or a large Horse & Jockey!

Hmmm ok

The only catering the Fed has ever been involved in is at the their conferences.. where their very expensive outside caterers did a brilliant job using my subscriptions

Although having gone as a delegate and observer I made sure I ate my subscriptions worth

The only catering that was ever any good was the Met catering

The ability to feed thousands through Buck gate was really impressive, but even that’s gone now

Absolutely

Not to mention those left behind now having cancelled rest days and being put on 12 hour shifts to cover those that have gone

Tunic (and stab vest in later years) - Check. Area car - Check Crime recording guru - most definitely, Stop search - not difficult so dont need to be an expert. Trainer - Check. Traffic and CID definitely not Catering - definitely not - though my force has sent Fed reps down with the troops with a specially adapted waggon to supply drinks, snacks and toilet facilities to the troops out on static points. ..and yes, theyve had more than enough notice to ensure catering facilities are adequate - this is hardly a spur of the moment incident.

It would be ok if it was quality, but trade catering never is. Is this stuff brakes or similar?
