Pros are it is in the right location and on a good big plot

Cons are well look at it.

My thoughts are to knock down the flat roof bit and replace with a pitched roof extension then add a separate garage block, but then how to make the rest of the house look less grim?

Thoughts and suggestions please.

Looks amazing. I probably wouldn’t knock down the extension I’d just modernise it all. Either way, great place.

Great house, seems great value for money but then I am in London where even a 2 bed flat is £400K

Initial thing I notice is the windows, not just the white upvc but they are all different styles/sizes. I can't work out why you have a bay window and then lots of 70's style flat windows and the long narrow ones too - I hate those.

Make all windows uniform style and it would look better but not perfect and it would cost a fair bit making some of the holes bigger/smaller.

Dirk Diggler party nights here you come!

Great 70s retro vibe. As above, I'd leave the shell and just look to sympathetically modernise the inside.

One room has to have tinted mirrors on the walls, deep shagpile, red leather sofas and a glitter ball though.

Looks like that wasn't built as a domestic house, wonder what its history is? Something to do with the church?

Garden and grounds look like they'll be hard work, hope you like gardening and clearing leaves.

That family room would make a great bar and/or home cinema room!

Look at it as a 6 bed house with land enough for a massive garage. And a second house STPP.
The house is a great layout. 2 beds downstairs (granny flat, or games rooms)
It's a blank canvas.

Nothing to not like. Potential is massive.

What a great house! The bay window is a bit odd and that massive blank wall needs a lot of vines/creepers/roses on it.

I'd embrace the 70s vibe and open up the family room front and back with windows like the hall and reading room/landing above.

What a boat load of potential! I do these for a living but that would have me seriously interested for my only place.

Far out, a big pad, whatever you do will swallow large chunks of dough.

I think I'd be living in it for six months before I decided where to spend.

Thumbs up from me. (even though I don't have the time/energy/funds to sink into it)

It looks like it has lots of potential on a great plot.

The main question is at that price can you afford to do it up quickly to how you'd like it to be, or do you mind living with it as it is as you do it up slowly?

The access would annoy me, looks like you have to drive through other people's property to get there.

Isn't it just an unadopted road?

Yes it's horrible, but someone will love it. Function over form, maybe turn it into a house for blind people?
It's always such a shame that someone so lacking in architectural vision gets to put things like that in such great places.
The thing is we're still putting up bland poorly designed expensive houses even now.

I like that - so much potential and some parts of it are excellent (e.g. the landing). Love the outdoor space too. I'd vote for a sympathetic restoration.

Like anything on a nice plot it’s got great potential, but the problem I see is that it needs a LOT spending on it, by the time you have sorted it out properly, it ends up well over a £1m house which may or may not be over your budget.

I thought that - it's not even properly surfaced.

It's pretty close to an industrial estate, although it looks largely about distribution. But it's east of it, with prevailing winds from the west so noise, pollution etc will be carried towards the house. And how long will it be before that small field that separates it gets filled in?

Instantly reminded me of this house which went STC immediately near us (still being listed could be a red-herring, there's so little for sale here agents are leaving them on, we're aware of others that are still listed even with the new people in them): https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/72411705#/

Every house is compromised though, so it's just a question of what's acceptable to you, bearing in mind you'll likely want to sell it at some point.

I love that, fantastic house.

Sadly as above I do not like the enormous distribution centre that's close to it, I would make sure that is not expanding any more.
