Discussion
Latest example Chris Packham.
On the one hand preaches climate panic.

On the other hand leads tours to Alaska. Surely among the least green destinaTIONS ON EARTH.

On the whole yes. They consume resources like the rest of us, use the internet and phones to plan their next jape. For instance if you look at the names and addresses of the XD mob that were arrested and charged in Dover, none of them could have got to Dover using public transport, and will have driven there. Much like Politicians and Councillors - Do as we say, and not as we do. They justify the use of resources on the loose premise of their protests.
Remember Emma Thompson, actress and XD gobste, who flew into London to protest with the Oxford Circus boat debacle. Yup, so green, but excused as she jets around the world.

Anyone who pretends to be interested in the environment and doesn’t live in a cave with no material possessions is a total hypocrite as far as I’m concerned.
Surely they need to kill themselves? So that they aren't a drain on the earth's limited resources.frisbee said:

and when asked if she flew economy...."I bloody don't no"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=os1lZnSamSM
Green Party - get cars and lorries off the road, stop internal flights, use public transport more, get rid of polluting vehicles.
Government - Ok, here’s HS2. Fully electrified, free up paths on the WCML for more services and will take extra freight and will be an alternative to cars, flights, etc.
Also Green Party - Nooooo! A few acres of woodland will disappear so we’re totally against it and we must always agree with Packham whilst quietly ignoring the new Thames Gateway crossing…

I love the countryside as much as the next bloke but one thing I can't get on board with are these eco warriors who have drove around in every other new petrol/diesel saloon for the last 20 odd years then as soon as decent finance arrived for an electric vehicle that then fills their needs they get their backs up about climate change stating they are saving the world and that everyone else should be burnt at the stake. To be honest if you'd stayed in your Peugeot 205 1.8D in the 80s you may be doing the world a damn bit more good but I suppose the environment hasn't been as important in between now and then?
I know a district leader for the XR bunch (they appoint local leaders to ensure they don't travel around to where the protests need to happen to save the environment apparently). I have to remain very quiet regarding my cars and my peers cars as he had just recently sacked in all automotives and has recently had a turn of faith and bought an electric van. This particular person spends a considerable amount of time online, did alot of travel within Africa as a missionary (travelling to and from the UK) and has an arts company that makes sculptures from welding - not exactly the best practice in environmentally friendly-ism.

I'm looking forward to COP26 later this year (if it happens) - thousands of eco warriors from all over the world jetting in to Glasgow to lecture the rest of us on how air travel is bad.
Helpfully, it seems the Clydeside Expressway past the SECC is going to be closed, presumably so they don't have the sight of people actually going about their business near their jamboree. The poor sods that use the various buses that normally travel on the Expressway will no doubt feel they're really doing their bit for the environment as they're stuck on the hideously congested Argyle Street/Dumbarton Road etc that parallels it.
On the plus side, at least the adjacent rail station is remaining open as far as I can see - earlier plans had that closed IIRC.
