CV19 - Cure worse than the disease? (Vol 13)

I have finally come to the conclusion that we are going to end up with vaccine passports and that the vast majority of people down to 16 and 17 year olds are going to have these vaccines. In fact I think we will eventually vaccinate children.
I still think its completely unnecessary to vaccinate young people, but we've gone so far over the edge that we simply cannot tolerate seeing large numbers of cases. We need to stop testing and the only way thats going to happen is near universal vaccination.
The USA is already well on the way and I would be amazed if we did not follow.
I feel desperately sorry for the few people who will be damaged by the vaccines, but society seems to have pretty much decided not to give a damn.
We are an ugly species when our back is against the wall.
I said it earlier, people are playing god and they think they can eradicate this thing.I still think its completely unnecessary to vaccinate young people, but we've gone so far over the edge that we simply cannot tolerate seeing large numbers of cases. The link above states most of the infections have been mild, but they want kids vaccinated anyway. It's utter madness.
Where has this complete and utter lunacy come from?

I don’t believe that will happen because this winter is about to get ugly, and the backlash against the vaccine itself will begin. Else I wouldn’t worry, a two tiered society will emerge but that second tier will be quite resourceful and perhaps will give some people a purpose we have lost from decades of meaningless living.I still think its completely unnecessary to vaccinate young people, but we've gone so far over the edge that we simply cannot tolerate seeing large numbers of cases. We need to stop testing and the only way thats going to happen is near universal vaccination.

Well, that’s my positive spin on it!

Irish teachers union INTO is pushing for exactly that -https://twitter.com/TeenHeard/status/1407392165278...
I bet ours are doing the same.

My hope would be that you are wrong although as you say, we are an ugly species at times. I still think its completely unnecessary to vaccinate young people, but we've gone so far over the edge that we simply cannot tolerate seeing large numbers of cases. I would add that many many people are extremely selfish and when that is combined with hypocrisy, apathy and the inability to think critically then your scenario is where we end up. And that is before you thrown Government manipulation and lies into the mix.
If it comes to pass, Those who remain unvaccinated will have to set up underground meeting places and an alternative society if they can!

Agree with all of this.We are an ugly species when our back is against the wall.
Vaccine Passports are sadly an open goal for them. They have landed for international travel and large scale events without a whimper. Many places in Europe such as Denmark and Austria are embracing them. When cases rise here in the winter it is locked on they will be used for hospitality at least.
We are being warmed up for vaccines for 14-16 and they will move further down the age ranges with the excuse of keeping schools open. At some point they will discriminate such that unvacced kids on exposure have to self isolate and miss half their schooling.
Sadly this is what people want which overrides logic.
Extremely dark days for our society, despite what the no biggie crowd say. This has a long, long way to run.

Hearing school sports days are being cancelled. Utterly crazy while we watch the Euros, Queens, Ascot, Olympics, Wimbledon take place. I really do struggle at times to see any logic.
It’s pointless looking for logic where none exists.Just look at the situation with regard to Billy Gilmour and the 2 English players. And the fact that the government have slipped through a change in the law to allow the UEFA officials to come to the Uk for the finals without quarantine……….
One rule for them and another for us

A third of infections are in the vaccinated?
So why bother?
Most of the new cases amongst vaccinated are mild?
So what's the point of worrying about it?
Logic has exited stage left several months ago.
I have a subscription and read that earlier, my take on it was cases are up because they've got the Indian variant circulating now, but few people are getting properly ill so the vaccines are doing their thing. It's a non-story. Other than, yay, vaccines, let's unlock stuff. So why bother?

Was bankrupt early 90s too so no lucky boomer stuff for me.
Just hard work before social media became a distraction for the plebs.
I also have a Daughter and Granddaughter, well balanced and happy through all of this. They do not live their lives as victims. I wonder where that came from.
Feel free to try again.

True, I suppose I should have said that when you think things couldn’t get any more illogical.... garyhun said:

There are a lot of people going to A&E now for absolute mundane stuff because essentially GPs are closed, so I would hazard a guess there will be a number of admissions of people testing positive on arrival for something else, and general hysteria which is taking place. That also bears out in that discharges are extremely high, people are not staying in hospital for along at all.
No they are not.Our southern Health trust A&E has been quiet and less busy than normal.
Our doctors' surgeries also act as normal with vaccination being dealt with completely separately.
Furthermore the 111 service is excellent and as good as a GP..

How the hell can 111 be as good as a GP? Maybe now given that some GPS appear to be unwilling to see people face to face but in normal circumstances?
And just because one trust is doing Ok, doesn’t mean that they all are. The Uk is a pretty big country.
But I guess if your glass is always overflowing in your little world, then everything must be fine and dandy.

Our GP surgery hasn't opened properly since the first lockdown. They are pushing for telephone appointments for everyone with reduced places. They simply do not want to see people face to face.
The surgery itself is locked with an intercom to speak to the receptionist...who you cannot get past.
