Every morning I’m tired. I’d love a good amount of sleep; I sleep well. But at night I’m addicted to reading nonsense on the internet and listening to music via youtube (#HouseMusicAllLifeLong music ) till midnight

God I’m tired

It's just how we are. You will either have to retire or get a job where you start at 11am or run your own business.

Hello fellow sleep saboteurs. I should of been asleep hours ago but I just can’t help it. Currently watching some zombie flick and reading pistonheads.

Even if I go to bed at 3am, I always wake at 5am.

I'm exactly the same as everyone here. Go to bed around midnight, wake up 5-6am. Even if it's a weekend and I go to bed later at probabl 2-3am, I still end up waking up at the same time. The result is the nap i take in the afternoon that should probably be 1hour tops..ends up sometimes being 3-4 hours.

Dunno how you guys do it. I’m in bed by 10pm most nights and up at 7am. Anything less and I’m knackered and useless!

11am? I'm up 6hrs by then. I've done 4400 steps by 0630 most mornings.

Take one Nytol tablet about an hour before you go to bed....(Available without prescription at any chemist)

Highly recommended, but don't take them more than a few days at a time.

I used to be in this bracket, but can now get off to sleep at 20.30 most nights of the week at least.

Things I changed...

No notifications on my phone (except from people in my favorites list)
No social media / news after 19.30
1 hour of outside exercise a day walk/run
Don't eat after 18.30
No booze except at weekend.
Set the alarm for the same time each day (for me 05.40)
I'd also recommend a Fitbit or similar for sleep tracking.
I sometimes take herbal sleep aids or melatonin as prescribed by my Dr
A hot bath before bed or sauna.
No evening exercise.
Make sure your bedroom is dark and at around 19c
Daily meditation also help.
I don't have any work stuff on my phone either, removed this years ago.

Now I'm getting around 8-8.5 hours of good quality sleep each night. Hope these tips help!

Melatonin. x2 per night. Quite mild, won't knock you out but improves sleep quality and usable longterm.

That would be a dream (no pun intended)

I've often wondered if its bad habit or genetic as i've always been a "night owl" - I'm sure it's not the healthiest sleep pattern...

I'm going to try this - my bedroom is also like an oven atm which doesnt help... And if we have the fan on i wake up with a really bad running nose etc -

I was seriously considering getting a single matress today and sleeping downstairs where it is cooler
