I thought his answer was well written and have a bit of respect for him for sticking to his position given it is one of the "unclean" opinions to hold online at the moment.

Also got to remember that he's a Glasgow MSP - where the SNP vote is largely underpinned by the huge Catholic vote which used to always go labour - and a lot of Catholics (well at least the ones who genuinely believe in the religion part and don't just identify as Catholic for their tribal affiliation) think abortion is a bad thing (or at least aren't so passionate as a vote decider). So he's probably calculated this won't hurt him as much as you think, and possibly steels a core and vocal part of his support. Or I could be wrong and he'll be "cancelled" by this afternoon!

Catholic MSP not fizzing about changes in abortion law in another country. I'm shocked! Shocked!

Seriously, does anyone think their MSP has to agree with them. On every issue? The only thing you can be sure of with an SNP politician is that they wa n independence.

Though some are possibly happy to ride the Westminster gravy train for a bit longer.

Meanwhile in Sturgeon's Scotland a long time male blood donor gets turned away because he refuses to say whether he is pregnant or not.

SNP Newspeak.

Teachers told not to use the phrase "British values". Makes you racist.

Also says bombers in Northern Ireland are people "opposed to peace" not terrorists.

It would appear the Chief Mammy has marched the troops to the top of the hill, and now has no idea what to do with them.

The foaming on social media when they realise their Cult Leader has failed to deliver, again, should be glorious. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's The National propaganda front page.

The Herald said:
NICOLA Sturgeon will not produce any legislation today to back up her plan to hold a second referendum, the Herald understands.

The First Minister is due to set out her “route map” to independence to MSPs this afternoon with an eye to holding a vote in October 2023.

However the Scottish Parliament has not received an Indyref2 Bill from the Scottish Government in time for an introduction today.

It is understood there is also unlikely to be an Indyref2 Bill introduced by summer recess, which starts at the end of this week.

I must have had a very traditional education as I am struggling to think when a teacher might be talking about "British" or any other "values" - I did give up on history very early though (and am quite old now) biggrin

"Now is the Time" NS confidently says while at the same time kicking the can further down the road, perhaps as far as the next General Election. She further says, that the SNP will fight that Election on a single issue, "Should Scotland be Independent?"
Well hopefully she will be history before the next GE but if not surely the electorate will be awake enough to get rid of her and her cohort.

That is a bit unfair, now is not the only now, there are many nows in the future, probably an infinite amount of them, and I don't believe she specified which now she was referring to, and by then then's now will be now and now's now will be then and then won't you look silly now.

Hiho hiho off to the Supreme Court we go.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-scotland-619564...

No legislation before the summer break and a court battle that may not even be heard. Next October is going to be a tight timescale even if it all goes to plan for Sturgeon.

Im fairly certain this is against the legal advice she redacted and wouldnt share last month so shall be interesting to watch her squirm out of this failure.

Can the UK Supreme Court obtain full versions of the Scottish legal reports that were redacted / unpublished and include them in the findings?

Back in 2014 I felt quite sad at the thought of Scotland leaving the U.K. Now I can’t wait for them to ps off. Independence will be a disaster but I absolutely detest Sturgeon and the SNP and anyone who’s voted for them deserves what they get.

This. The SNP have spent years blaming just about everything on the Westminster government and will continue to do so if independence ever happens. Westminster is guilty of some bad decisions but then so is the Scottish government.

Would being independent have stopped the SNP spending £250M on two ferries? Etc. Etc.

Most of the problems in Scotland are nothing to do with Westminster but it is handy having a bogie man to blame when things go wrong.
