Obviously from the budgets of the FBI, DOJ,AG,etc, the ones that are allocated to catching crooks. Surely that doesn't come as a surprise to them?

He is diminished massively. Just because many Republicans are willing to vote for him in a primary I'm not convinced they are willing to get arrested and thrown in jail for him any more.

My bet is thousands. I'd be surprised if Law Enforcement get anywhere near him. IF something actually happens then, at best, trump's lawyers will ensure that Trump gets treated with kid gloves.

Yep, I'll bet that LEOs have been instructed (and specifically chosen) for maximum diplomacy if he gets arrested. As much as we'd all love to see Trump get frogmarched out of magalago, it's not going to happen.

Thousands? Hmmm. Thus far almost exactly 1000 have been criminally charged for Jan 6, probably a similar number remain.

If there are thousands of broke people from redneck locales how will they be able to travel and afford the hotel rooms in Manhattan? There was a huge operation around Jan 6 funded by many GOP activists.

Any car entering Manhattan is tagged with a licensing system. If you don't have the correct tag you get a summons immediately (I know several people caught out by this and it's instant, you get a letter the next day)

I'm convinced it will be a bust. Maybe 100 diehard cultists. No guns and I doubt physical violence. It is a different moment now.

He hasn't done a thing for the Jan 6 criminals other than fk up their lives and the cult was way stronger then than it is now.

I'm betting there WILL be thousands celebrating in the streets just as when Biden won.

My guess is one of two things:

He is making it all up and it’s another grift.

Manhattan district attorney has been talking to the secret service to set it all up in advance, as the last thing they want is a standoff between the secret service and whatever law enforcement agency is going to arrest him, and there will be plans on how they handle the conflict of responsible between the two (who drives, what cars, agreement on how secret service agents will still be able to protect Trump whilst in police custody and so on). In which case it will be a group of blacked out SUVs driven anonymously out of a back gate somewhere on the property.

LEOs turning up and getting in to a confrontation with Trumps secret service detail, even if it’s all polite and level headed, seems like an embarrassment everyone would like to avoid.
