trumps attempt to block Corcoran testifying and handing over docs.

The speed of the appeal and response, means there are suggestions Corcoran wants to testify, is possibly jumping ship on trump and doesn't want to be left as the fall guy, as every other trump lawyer has ended up, plus the judge wants to give trump zero delay time.

Tucker Carlson's been trying to walk back his negative comments about trump, claims they were released illegally etc. He needs the maga faithful to remain as viewers.
https://www.mediamatters.org/tucker-carlson/tucker...

This as yesterday Fox dropped their gagging case against his ex producer who claimed she was coerced to tell lies in the Dominion case

I used to read this thread every day. Sometimes several times a day, but I have become completely disheartened by the whole thing. I don’t think America, allegedly the greatest country on earth, has the power to hold this person to account let alone the will.
Their system was just waiting to be abused. Far too much power in the hands of one person who has the duty to stuff the highest court in the land with political lackeys. What could possibly go wrong?
There appear to be absolutely zero consequences or accountability for anything they do. I know that our political system seems to struggle sometimes... however the GOP are on an entirely different level. What is more it looks like it's encouraged by the masses.

Their whole mantra of win / be the successful one / beat your opponent / we're the best, is not a great method for learning balance.

Well, it was trump's word and only that, which suggested it would happen yesterday, so it's true to form really that it didn't, given almost everything he says is a lie. It does sound like there is actually stuff happening though.

Wouldn't it be nice if both Johnson and Trump saw real consequences for their actions on the same day?

But the last few years have shown us we very much can't have nice things.

'Almost everybody says' biglaugh You can tell that's not one of his tweets, it has no mistakes other than the 'no nothing' one that was probably deliberately put in to make it sound trumpish. Oh, and 'reports says' of course.

There was one yesterday where trumpettes were claiming they'd leave the country if trump was charged, and so many people started offering free lifts to airports biggrin

You've got to love acyn showing trumps lawyer in 2018 ripping trump defence apart and claiming cohen was right
https://twitter.com/i/status/1637990010719969280
Guardian reporter Hugh Lowell is saying that Joe Tacopina who was rolled out by trump to do countless media interviews on how trump was innocent, on how it was a personal payment because he was extorted, was not actually engaged as a lawyer on the Trump legal team for the Stormy Daniels hush money case. His actual lawyers are Susan Necheles and Alan Garten, and so they are claiming he cannot be sidelined because of his previous communications with Stormy Daniels in 2018.

https://twitter.com/hugolowell/status/163837088868...

This follows CNN reporting that communications between him and Stormy have now been given to the Manhattan district attorney’s office by Stormy's legal team. They are claiming she gave Tacopina detailed information when she was seekign a lawyer to represent her.
https://edition.cnn.com/2023/03/21/politics/joe-ta...
More on this - it won't go away as everyone jumps onto Joe Tacopina in 2018 saying when looking at taking on Stormy as a client " It's an illegal agreement, as to fraud, if that's in fact, the case. It doesn't make sense. It doesn't pass the straight face test. And quite frankly, if that is what happened, we have a potential campaign finance issue."

This time it's CNN roasting him

Unlike with trumps insurrection attempt, when they ignored threat of violence, it seems the authorities are taking threats seriously that have been made over trumps possible charges.

WP are reporting investigations into death threats to AG Bragg, Rolling Stone reporting the same, following trumps claims he was getting arrested and asking his mob to "protest" and "take our nation back." again

Update on the filings.
Trump lawyers made two midnight filings to stave off effort by DOJ effort to piece Trump’s attorney-client privilege in Mar-a-Lago documents cast.

Note: trump filed lawyers filed 32 minutes late, DOJ 36 minutes early.
DOJ filed their 6,400-word response, at 5:36AM, meeting the appeals court’s 6AM deadline.

So thing to watch for today is any reports of tump lawyers appearing at the federal courthouse today, because the ruling will come quite quickly today, and the I expect Corcoran will testify and hand over the requested documents and TAPES!

I just can't believe trump was taped - AGAIN!

Looks like the DOJ was well prepared for those shenanigans.

and trump lawyers weren't, expecting the delays. Only 773 words filed on forst, 139 on the second filing. Have they just filed a trump TS rant? biggrin
