It's been since it was found he had an aide digitising the stolen docs. In that way trump could 'keep' them whilst handing back the originals. Trouble is, with the amount of spies and people wandering magalago (all you have to do is flatter trump) and there's no knowing what docs were copied, and stolen, or even where the digital copies have gone, how many people have them...
Thats before you get to trump destroying documents. They know some are still missing, they haven't recovered all, because trump had them signed out from the National Archives before he left office.
I've no idea how he's still out of jail from this, how he's been given so many opportunities to hand them back. Anyone else would be in jail already

Far-right House Republicans led by Marge got their trip to to the Washington DC jail where the magamob members were being held, as she attempted to turn them into martyrs, but Dem Jasmine Crockett went along as well and made sure she went onto media saying it was all a political stunt by Marge.
They actually are treated so much better than other prisoners!
Rep Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) was asked why she joined the Congressional tour of Jan 6 wing of jail. She responded:
"There had to be somebody that was going to be willing to tell the truth"
Marge claimed the toilets at the jail don’t work and that the inmates are being denied medical care, which is untrue, then defelected questions on her whitewashing of trumps insurrection.
Edit: She also wanted a man arrested because he turned up and consistently blew a whistle as she tried to hold a press conference outside.
Apparently she made up the claims of attempted assault because the police refused to arrest him
