So in summary:

Let's have a pandemic
Experts to the fore.
Crisis- we are all going to die.
Drugs companies come up with a quick fix, we will save you
In the real world:
- Delta is the flu
- Crom is the common cold
Meanwhile the entire world goes into meltdown, accepts the bullst.
Experts disappear and the world is set to go on as before. But unfortunately the damage is done and opportunities have occurred that folk are going to exploit. Step forward Trudeau, Macron, Aus and NZ peeps etc el. They ain't going to let go easily...
That's a pretty decent summary of the past 17 volumes of this thread! smile

Interesting article from a Kiwi trying to get home...

So in summary, the Taliban offered them a safe haven and NZ declined their MIQ requests... Only legal action and her media clout seemed to change the decision. It's pretty shocking.

I was aware that Canada, and specifically Trudeau, is treading a very unsettling line WRT those that are unvaccinated. However, I find this - if true - deeply disturbing:-

I assumed it was going to be China from the picture. Mental.

That sort of thing is inexplicable and is a sign that while people love to dream up that ludicrous type of thing they're usually much too incompetent to design and implement the processes and systems to manage it. Or in other words, the more the authoritarian/high-control people do, the more they stuff it up. It's refreshing that this lady wrote about her experience as I would think that everyone else would have quietly gone all "I'm alright Jack", resting easy that they can call on people high up in government to smooth things over for them....

So 24 days straight locked in your home if someone else in the house tests positive, and then if you test positive yourself (which you very likely will, because Omicron) the 24 day clock restarts.

So almost 7 weeks continuous house arrest for everyone in the house if just one person tests +ve and then someone else tests +ve on the last day?

And I presume it could continue repeatedly?

WTF?

What are the last few holdout places like St Jacindas gaff and Hong Kong thinking?

Covid will never go away, so do they think they can do this forever?

What’s the point in all the damage before you inevitably lose the war? What is the end game?

I could suggest an answer on that last point but I need to go shopping for some more Tin Foil first wink

I do need to get some more... but have just been busy trying to avoid all the theatre for a while.

I might even be able to go into the work building soon and actually meet the people I work with rolleyes

I remain very concerned that Boris will 'have an accident' or get pushed out, though, and that we will revert to the Austria / France / Canada timeline.

As noted, we have won a battle but the war is far from over.

(and yes, I know Covid is not a war - but 'the powers that be' seem to think it is...)

There is little appetite in the UK to go down the route of those countries.

Deaths appear stubbornly high but that may be what normal winter flu deaths run at which doesn't get reported on the news every day.

You didn't think they were going to let this go easily, did you?

Tests and masks is what keeps this all alive.

Indeed, as some of us non critical thinkers have already pointed out.

The 0.03% IFR is equally misrepresented.

Think they have possibly scored an own goal with that article (perhaps deliberate?). To me it highlights that if you’re fit and healthy, and young, you have absolutely nothing to fear from Covid, which was certainly not what the MSM have been pushing for the last 2 years.

Type 2 diabetes very obese man dies at age 56. Yes Covid most probably saw him off, but with his condition at his age and his obvious current health state, a bad flu season or possibly too much hot weather would have done the same job. He was not long for this World.

It is as if no one died pre March 2020.

We didn’t do anything. The politicians did it to justify the billions they’ve spent and how they were duped by China and the msm videos of hospitals full of young super fit people dying. Young fit healthy people with grey hair , wrinkles and beer bellies.
