Glimmer of hope. Looks like the adults took the opportunity to do some work on this while Bozo and Truss are distracted with Ukraine.

All linked to the £400m debt and a massive oil deal, at a guess.

Well we owed them the money. I hope the country does open back up, I really want to visit at some point. Lovely people, history and food.

Excellent news let's hope Johnson can keep his mouth shut long enough to see her safely returned.

I agree, we should have paid that debt ages ago. You probably could visit the country fairly easily if you wanted. The last time I went in 2018, there was an Irish guy at the consulate in London. He was doing a tour of various countries in the region but in order to do so, he had to get an Iranian visa. It is a fantastic country to visit, the people are so friendly. The history is off the scale, no trip would be complete without a visit to Shiraz and Isfahan.
Anyway, I hope Nazaneen is able to travel home soon.

The issue is I also need the ability to visit the US… want to see how it pans out for a bit. Otherwise I’ll get a duplicate passport.

Both Nazanin and Anoosheh Ashoori are at a Tehran airport now and are about to leave Iran.
(Press TV Iran have just reported them being allowed to leave)
Thankfully Johnson hasn't said anything so far today to disrupt the process...!

Its been on my list to, last I heard before a total ban brits needed to hire an escort/security/minder which put me off. Hopefully we can build some relations.

Good news on the release long overdue.

Yes, to my bold.

Not so much the politicians.

Like most places.

I hope Nazanin's husband gets some sort of recognition - an honour or something - for the amazing job he has done keeping global attention on his wife's incarceration over all these years.

Good to know she is on a plane along with the other guy who has been released. It won't be a direct flight unless it is a private jet, because the Iran Air flights to Heathrow are Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. A Mahan air flight - IRM114 - left for Istanbul just over half an hour ago.
