I had no idea this event was going to start 3 miles from my house , I saw a sign directing the cars on a road 1 mile from my house yesterday , so looked it up and went back down there this morning and watched for 2 hours as many many cars passed
by .

I have many many pics ,not a single 1 of a BMW Mini ,I needed to save memory card space for the old cars .

This will take all night to post ,my internet and lap top are painfully slow .
If you think some of these are poor quality , the pics I rejected are worse !

Great pics
Thanks , my new fave pics are the first with the long line of near identical green cars .

I tried to capture all the unusual types , estates , vans ,pickups , customs , kit cars , missed a pair of Mini Marcoses
travelling together , Innocentis , there was plenty of European registered cars , saw Belgian , German and Dutch ,
there may have been others .
There was a whole line of Mokes too ,pics to come yet .

Full size version of a Matchbox car I believe .

I need more encouragement and enthusiasm to finish this .

Brilliant pictures, thanks for posting. My mini broke down so I couldn't make it. Fingers crossed we make it to Goodwood this weekend coming.

Thanks for posting. Great spread of cars there, from Mk1s to late Rover-era Coopers and editions. That bunch of green ones near the top were Cooper 35LEs.

Having done London-Brighton a few times in the early 2000s, I can't help feeling spectating is the best way to enjoy it. The atmosphere is great at the pre-run camp and again on the sea front at Brighton, but the run itself is on boring roads with a lot of heavy traffic. Or it was then, at any rate.

I'd have also sat there and watched that lot too, even though I'm more an Imp fan. thumbup
Just joy and fun, something that's been missing for the last couple crap years.

ps
Your remark about 'not a single BMW Mini' is wrong though, I've spotted several in your pics!

They were photo bombing my pics of classics .tongue out

I was hoping for a 3 abreast round the large roundabout but why would anyone do that on an unfamiliar road ?

Havin done this a few times in late 90's I'd have to disagree with this bit. Hoon down was a blast back then

Couple of my old mini. Fun times.

Where I was standing was at the start of the locally infamous mad mile , a straight dual carriageway of 0.9 mile ,

some of the modded BMW versions mostly gave it all the beans ,to the other end where they had to turn left towards

Purley .

Electric shorty , even less room for batteries than a standard size car .

My mother had a white car identical to this , she died in it ,in 1973 .
Seems like a good place to stop again .
