Well I've done it too

First I thought it was some oversized SUV thing, but looked at the dimensions and saw it was actually shorter than the current Megane (over 15cm).
Seems like a great competitor to the ID3, which it desperately needs. In terms of real world affordable EV's, it seems like the ID3 has had too little competition and a lot of it needs to become better (infotainment top on list).

It's a good choice - they're getting really good reviews, and Renault have a better / longer history than even Nissan of battery life / management, so would expect it to be more than competitive on efficiency.
Last review I watched said the battery pack was liquid cooled and heated so when you choose a destination changer (Google interface?) it will try and make sure the battery is at the optimum temp when you get there, not aware of a bad review so far, rear space being the only possible issue.Very close to signing up for one of these too… just seems a shame that the UK cars will do without the leather seats, unexpectedly stylish wood inlays in the dashboard and doors, and most importantly the large touchscreen that reviewers have waxed lyrical about.
Seems we forego the heat pump and digital rear view mirror for RHD spec cars too?
If they open up the options list I’d be tempted, but the fact even the Launch Edition cars do without makes me suspect we won’t see them in the UK for the foreseeable (probably to enable price competitiveness vs ID3?)

I signed up for one of these today - seems like a no-brainer. It's ostensibly a £500 deposit, but actually Renault aren't taking any money at the moment.
The on-line reviews look good, Renault are right up there with the best in mass-market battery tech, and if I don't like the prices/spec or something better comes along, I can cancel without penalty.

Lovely, thank you. Given these are likely to be ~£10k less than the equivalent spec of Enyaq/Ioniq 5/EV6, if the space is acceptable I'd rather land here! Also smaller, so lower frontal area and fewer materials, so gives me better eco-vibes as we head down this path. i will update when i know something

Add: it's actually shorter than either the ID.3 or the Leaf.

Those are the wrong competitors / car class really - this is ID.3 / Born / Leaf-sized (possibly Ora Cat?) - about the same as an Audi Q2 (ish).

Indeed. I hoping they've "pulled an Octavia" and are getting suitable (for me!) interior space out of that size of platform using EV architecture, but I'm pretty sure my hopes will be in vain Add: it's actually shorter than either the ID.3 or the Leaf.

Be interesting to see how it stacks against the Zoe; mrs dgswk has one on a lease, with 15 months left to run. I'd imagine this will be a very serious contender. The Zoe has been brilliant (so far), all the toys for a daily 60 mile M5 Birmingham commute. So cost effective compared to her old diesel. Even used it on a few long distance holiday trips, the 50kW charging is a bit slow, but no biggie on the two or three times we used it.

This will be an entire class bigger though, sort of like a Clio vs... a Megane. As for the 50kW charging, it's indeed a tad slow, but the Zoe is pretty frugal. People tend to forget frugality when talking about the charging curve. An e-tron can stay well above 100kW for a while, but it'll need 100kWh to go as far as a Zoe would on 50.
