Yeah, that’ll be it.

Defending their hard fought rights, speaking up for those working three jobs, claiming benefits and still using food banks. The scummy bds that they are.

Tell me, if no one is interested why do so many of you still post in the thread?

Well, the flashing greens’ sole reason for being was to allow 140mph running.
I’ve been a passenger on a few services hauled by 91s that attained the speed. A couple of times the conductor actually made announcements of such, proud of making up the six minute delay at the last station stop.

Why it seems to have died is a strange one.
It was proven to work and even today trains travelling over the line still receive flashing greens (or did 5 years ago).
The infrastructure is there, the trains are there and I’ve personally witnessed it all working smoothly on an ordinary KX-ED service.
Didn't HMRI - on the basis of the trials with the five-aspect signalling - later decree that there wasn't enough time at 125+mph for a driver to sight and interpret a lineside signal (especially if the visibility was sub-optimal) and so introduced the requirement for in-cab signalling for scheduled 125+mph running.

I'm sure many of us are interested. It's not often that someone can give others a good chuckle by openly exhibiting their views and naivety.

The consensus was. ‘Done on the cheap, concerns raised and ignored and whole sections rushed’. Belford and Alnmouth in particular. Coincidentally,, where most of the issues continue to this day.
That doesn't sound like NR biglaugh

I don’t know but that sounds feasible.

Strangely, three aspect SIMBIDS was introduced for 125 mph running without too much issue.

Plus it's a bit rich the likes of Alistair Campbell and fellow travellers complaining when it was he and others who really went to town brow beating the media.

As always more hypocrisy than a hypocrisy shop on BOGOF day.

Still, I’d love to be a fly on the wall of the Tory rags, all conflicted and seething at the moment.

Noticing that Mick Lynch is not on the TV or radio any more.

Tories can't be having an intelligent smart working class man showing up their dimwitted Eton elitist twerps who's only real skill is lying.
Just so your tinfoil hat doesn't get too itchy, there's no reason for Lynchy to be on the TV at the moment. No further strikes have been called and I presume numerous meetings behind closed doors are taking place to try to resolve the situation.

Yes, no further strikes called so, hopefully, discussions are ongoing. If they fail for any reason it will be interesting to see what the RMT will do next - the strikes clearly had nothing like the impact that they would have had in earlier years.

The threat of CR dropped.

Tim Shoveller NR reports good progress in talks.
Mick Lynch reports seeing no need for further strikes.

Who’d have thought?

If only we had vocal PH members handling the negotiations it would have been so much better.

Interesting.

Positive comments from both Shoveller amd Lynch were reported earlier. At the time, Shoveller said that a pragmatic decision was that a formal letter of possible job losses had been set aside *for the time being* to help negotiations (obvious and sensible approach).

That is not dropping CR.

I presume you must know of a more recent statement ?

Good plan.......let's think......poorly paid, don't want to change any T&Cs, whingeing all the way to the bank......

Am I doing this right ? - or have they more credibility than the RMT ?

Scotrail ASLEF members have accepted a pay deal:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-62125059

BBC said:
ScotRail drivers will see their pay climb by 5% and also get more money for rest day and Sunday working, driving instructor and maternity pay along with a policy of no compulsory redundancies for the next five years.

The nationalised train operator said 2.2% of the increase would be funded by Transport Scotland with the remaining 2.8% coming from ScotRail's funds.

ScotRail came back into public ownership for the first time in 25 years in April, after previous operator Abellio had its franchise ended early over criticism of the quality of the service.

Remains to be seen whether they are interested in doing overtime again or if they’ve got used to the extra leisure time they’ve had in the last few weeks. The West Highland service has completely collapsed recently, presumably because some drivers are on holiday.
I suspect ScotRail is fked for the foreseeable, but now more expensively.

I could get behind the network rail staff, but not this lot.

I've had a 2.2% pay increase this year, much like anyone else who was lucky enough to get one at all.

Has it been said anywhere how much they want? Something daft like 10% no doubt.

If you bothered to read my post just above you will see that Scotrail ASLEF members accepted 5%.
