You've never met an American religious fundamentalist then.

It's the "pro-life" thing that makes me laugh, because the Venn diagram of anti-abortionists and those in favour of the death penalty isn't far off being a perfect circle.
Add in pro-guns, and it becomes a perfect circle. hehe
Very interesting statement by the Vatican (who are obviously pleased with the verdict)
https://www.reuters.com/world/us/pro-life-is-not-j...

Basically says that being "pro-life" means far more than just wanting to ban abortions - it also means that you must be concerned if the mortality rate of women increases due to motherhood and must also defend life against the threat of firearms. It also means guaranteeing that healthcare is accessible to all.

How sad is that.

It is preferable to the alternative, where the father or other people have more say over what a woman chooses to do with her body/unborn child.

What all six Justices who struck down Roe said about it during their confirmation hearings

All six Supreme Court justices in the majority opinion striking down Roe v. Wade avoided directly stating in their confirmation hearings how they would rule on it. They typically stuck to expressing their belief in the importance of precedent.

Repeating 'ad hominem' doesn't make it any more valid.
I'm beginning to suspect you don't actually know what an ad hominem is and its just something you've seen written down in other debates.
Oh, the irony.
And now I don't believe you understand what irony is either.

A woman can do what she likes with her own body, the issue is should she have that right over someone elses.

So what about non-whites? If you're a believer in the "great replacement" bullst, shouldn't abortion for non-whites be not only legal, but subsidised?

And in the video below that one "Hitler was right in his views about capturing the minds of the youth." Yes, and I've heard that Jimmy Savile was really good at fundraising. rolleyes

I honestly assumed that would be a misquote but it's a video and she's right there saying it.

Absolute bunch of nutjobs.

I don't see the link between abortion and gay marriage. You could easily be against abortion but for gay marriage, so where is the irony?

The OP was referring to a Tory MP, who I assume isn't an American religious fundamentalist.

Like I give a stuff what you "think". At least not until you're prepared to answer the question I asked many pages ago.

My issue is that you say a woman can do what she likes with her own body, yet you seem to immediately contradict yourself.

Do you also take such offence to say, a parent deciding whether or not their child should have their MMR?

Or, do you just like picking and choosing to suit yourself?

Well, good luck with that, the maternal mortality rate in the US is obscene, and this is only going to make it worse.

That’s really not a great analogy.

I wonder if she realises that this will mostly “benefit” black babies/lives? hehe

It's not contradictory if you consider the unborn child an independent being and not simply an appendage to the mothers.

There are no great analogies tbh. Its a completely bespoke and individual issue, that most people agree, is nothing to do with anyone apart from the parties directly involved.

But you know that they're not independent.

Unless it's a clone, it has it's own unique DNA and is therefore an independent being. No?
