Following on from last weeks RMT strikes, the barristers are taking their own action this week.....!

I can imagine sympathy running much higher with that group...

Traffic wardens will be out next.

This was my dream job but coming from a working class background (Dad was a Southampton stevedore) sadly was never to be.

Are the barriers to entry that hard? My cousin (northern mill town upbringing, daughter of a taxi driver, went to a Comprehensive rather than the local Grammar school) managed it.

Training to be a criminal barrister: 5 years.

Cost of bar course: c.£13,000

Median annual income for juniors in first 3 years:

£12,200

You just know that when Boris or a minister is asked for a comment they’ll choose the wages of a well paid commercial barrister on a squillion quid a year as a representative example of all barristers when in fact a criminal barrister earned a pittance in comparison.
