I hope its true.....but I can't think of any reason these would be being taken by train in that area, given the Kalibr is essentially a ship or sub launched weapon, and wouldn't need to be transported by train in that area at all.
Most, if not all of the black sea fleet are now no longer operating out of Crimea, so even if the rail bridge over Kerch strait is still not fully open, they'd still not need to be sending them there?
The rail line kinks up then down to Sevastopol rather than going across Crimea.
Yes, I know, which why I was questioning if they were Kalibr missiles being carried, as there's no logical reason to be taking them by train across southern Ukraine to go anywhere, even to Sevastopol, as the Russian Black Sea Fleet are no longer operating from there since the sinking of the Moskva and the drone attack on Sevastopol, it all moved back to Novorossiysk.

However, they might have been moving stocks FROM Sevastopol back to Novorossiysk via this route if they can't take them over the Kerch bridge still, and they are running out of them from other sources......which if that's the case, could be a huge benefit to Ukraine.
Pity we don't know which direction the train was travelling in to confirm?

Latest update.

I'm far from convinced that 50pc of Wagner convicts are seeing out their 6 months without being wounded. Seems closer to 90pc casualties.

Maybe 50pc are being invalided home.

Interesting point by the MoD report - that those wagners returning home are likely to be a bit fooked in the head and were already violent, so are literally going to be bringing the war back home. That has to be bad news for Putin from a containment/nothing to see here point of view.

There was a detailed article about it a few weeks back, posted here.

Deffo an issue but I didn't get the impression there were many. The prisoners were disposable troops with a casualty rate to match.

There's also reports that the Russians have been recruiting female prisoners from penal camps in the southern 'stans to go and fight on the front line.

Pootin will do anything to keep the war away from the old White Russian areas around Moscow and St.Petes...as he has to keep them sweet to stay in power.

Or just give them Polish passports and pay them to be a nuisance in the West.

Think that was me that posted that - or at least, I posted this article, if that's the one you're thinking of.

Regards numbers, do we know how many prisoners Wagner recruited? If we take the MoD estimate of 50% of those about to return home then that must still be a good number of utter rockets about to return to the population. Wonder if they thought ahead enough to only recruit prisoners who'd potentially be returning to the deprived areas, or if any real number of these are returning to the relatively affluent cities.

Similar, but not the same article It was more recent than that - they traced 30 odd and interviewed 5.

There was also an intercept of a Wagner guy in hospital who said he was going to be shot for under performing and the next day he was dead. Died of his injuries? Or executed?

I wonder if they're not fully pardoned, but more like paroled, and will be put back through the cycle as readily as they can be found and rounded up?

I think 3 out of the 5 interviewed in that article hadn't received their pardons. (But they were still free.)

At least now Putin has something in common with the Wagnerites, he too is also now officially a criminal.

Russians on the Wagner channel. It's very clear they understand the USA are comparative good guys compared to the Chinese, the Nazi thing is a lie. They know.

...and they certainly know they've lost and trashed their economy.

The only thing missing is any desire to quit.

Apparently a new law was recently passed that means russians will receive a jail term if they are found to be discrediting wagner mercenaries.

So when the local nut job returns to your town after getting a pardon for murder because they did a 6 month stint on the front line and starts causing havoc, you cant complain about them or report them to the police as you will be the one that ends up doing 15 years in jail.

I thought we were taking the piss about the body double but the real Putin is just so odd, twitching and jerking all over the place. If a friend of mine behaved like that I would be concerned they were having a stroke.

The Putin who drove in occupied Ukraine was as cool as a cucumber, relaxed when driving and calm when talking to random strangers with proper eye contact etc. He also didn't look like a hungover cabbage patch kid
I rarely buy into any conspiracies but it did catch my eye on the video that his skin doesn't seem to blend at all from his neck to face and looks like a deepfake
