Did you listen to the episode a few days ago where they interview an ex Republican political strategist ? If a Republican wins the election at the end of next year it is currently not a given that the current level of support continues. Hopefully political posturing but worrying…especially if D Trump esq manages to pull it off.
There has already been Republican support for aid for Ukraine. It couldn't happen without republican support.

In office they'll be even more supportive.

Even without the USA Ukraine will have useful support. Europe does not want an emboldened Russia on Poland's border.

I fear you are correct. Unfortunately the fact that the Republican Party wont deal with the lunatic fringe means that this has the chance of tearing them apart. If they get elected, the fringe will push for a Russia friendly strategy and to pocket the money allocated for themselves (of course they arent going to spend it on Americans, they want to spend it on themselves). But the majority of the Republican Party does support Ukraine and its significance. As a result, it will degenerate into arguments between themselves and ultimately no action.

With the potential links to Russian funding for some in the Republican Party, it’s clear that Russia is trying to influence American politics, which itself has the opportunity to backfire also. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens.

Given how cleverly Ukraine has been using mines to date I'm gonna predict they fully understand the problem of mines.

Whether they have a solution, we'll find out over the summer. Let's hope so.

Finland donating all 6 of its Leopard 2 mine clearance/combat engineering units to Ukraine - I'm sure they've got plans for finding them gainful employment in the field.

Maybe the auto translate is wrong but it appears a Russian Officer disguised himself as a Ukranian, shot there Ukranians in cold blood and then got shot himself:

It does make you wonder if rapid progress *is* possible for Ukraine. Russia get bogged down which made me think Ukraine would too. Bit Russia can't fight at night, they can't clear mines fast and the Ukranians can deploy mines with artillery. There's quite a big difference there.

Things could be a lot different in the best part of two years. If their best hope is that in 20 months time, Trump gets re-elected and decides not to give Ukraine any more support then they're really desperate.

Depleted means it does not have any more Radioactivity. It is a very dense metal one and a half more than than lead, they used it in F1 as ballast. Yes if you ingest it you will get sick, much like eating a remote control battery will kill you. But so will lead.
DU was used as ballast in 747s for decades, I think every 747 built before 1984 had DU as part of the pressure bulkhead assembly.

I honestly don’t think Europe would be able to offer meaningful support without the US, look at the MIG’s currently being supplied by Slovakia…Slovakia have agreed a deal with the US for the purchase of some helicopters at about a third of the going rate as part of the deal.

I’m well aware there has already been Republican support but if the man in the top job doesn’t propose supporting Ukraine it’s very unlikely to happen.

Have a listen. https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/slovakia-to-...

The USA dwarfs everyone else, I acknowledge, but I think even Poland alone could do a lot.

The tank to tank combat kill in 1991 at 5.1 miles against a T54 with a depleted uranium shell. Could the Ukrainians have a hold my beer moment this Summer? I know a tank is better than no tank, but this would be a nice scalp to get.
Apparently already double that record albeit through drone-supported indirect fire rather than a direct fire engagement:

More relevant than the level of radioactivity is that depleted Uranium emits alpha particles which do not have enough energy to penetrate skin

Are there any tanks left for it to kill? Slightly OTT bringing out the big guns against T54s?

Well if I was posting in Finnish and got something wrong in a post whether from incorrect translation or a misunderstanding about the subject itself then I would be entirely happy to be corrected. Just me though - guess you disagree.

Was it crowdfunded from this forum?

Would be fascinating to see - one last hurrah for the Warthogs - but I fear might be to vulnerable to Russian ground to air defences.

Brilliant video here Russian ATGM team fires a missile at a target, and are observed by a Ukrainian STUGNA missile team who send a laser guided missile down on them.

It’s not graphic but this is war so someone is having a very bad day.
