Well, there are a lot of these ships going around the world all the time, and very seldom does anything like this happen … I just don’t want people thinking that tankers aren’t safe.

Conspiracy theorists will have fun with this one.

Two lifeboats doing search patterns isn’t a good sign, hope all made it off safe

Unforgivable...a ship that size must have an MCAS of some sorts fitted.

Conspiracy theorists can double down - the Jet Fuel tanker is one of 10 tankers dedicated / charter to the US military.

Out of interest, why do they send so many tugs to the scene as part of the emergency response?

A lot of modern rugs are fitted with Fi-Fi systems...and the tanker is on fire.

Fire fighting makes sense if they have that capability.

There's 3 tugs and one supply vessel on the scene.

This YouTube video suggests that may be the case.

The Solong was using the same course she's used multiple times.

Hopefully they’ll both stay afloat and be able to be taken under tow for salvage once the fire is extinguished.

Wait till they get hold of the message that was sent out by the HSE at 0830 this very morning...

(and yes, I do get that they are alluding to wind farms etc, but when has that stopped a good conspiracy?)

Wasn't this built so the front wouldn't fall off?

How accurate is Vessel Finder? From the looks of things they've managed to pull the Solong away from Stena with the Yangtze pulling between...
