Staff of the Federal Emergency Management Agency were left baffled on Monday after the head of the U.S. disaster agency said during a briefing that he had not been aware the country has a hurricane season, according to four sources ..
A spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security, FEMA's parent agency, said the comment was a joke and that FEMA is prepared for hurricane season.
The spokesperson said under Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Richardson "FEMA is shifting from bloated, DC-centric dead weight to a lean, deployable disaster force that empowers state actors to provide relief for their citizens."
Richardson said during the briefing that there would be no changes to the agency's disaster response plans despite having told staff to expect a new plan in May, the sources told Reuters.

The first 4 paragraphs tell readers the Justice Department is investigating "discrimination against white men" at Harvard
paragraph 5 gets around to mentioning "the aggressive language in the letters from the Justice Department s two top civil rights lawyers appeared to have overstated the allegations"

An angry young white man who actually made it into Harvard, but still had a chip on his shoulder, to complain he was being discriminated against so Stephen Miller gave him a job? Wonder how long that will last.
The article goes on to report that the DOJ has been using the threat of federal investigations to pressure the Harvard Law Review to remove a reprimand from the file of this man who was about to be hired by Miller.

A 24-year-old asylum seeker was detained Monday by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers outside a Portland immigration courtroom after she appeared for a scheduled court date.
The woman, who is from Mexico and has been living in Vancouver, Washington, is now asking that she be brought before a federal judge in Oregon.

Von Braun was not involved in the V1 programme (which was a jet aircraft, not a rocket).
The US had numerous rocket programmes dating back to the 1920s. They pioneered the very first liquid fueled rocket (Dr Robert Goddard - 1926).
The US military had two major rocket laboratories, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena California and the Naval Rocket Research Lab in Maryland. Both these organisations did a huge amount of work on developing both liquid and solid fueled rockets independent of any German scientists or engineers.
Obviously, after World War 2, the US was keen to pick the brains of the German rocket teams (there were a few of them) and many ended up in the US. It was specifically the US Army who had use of Von Braun. His family of rockets (Redstone, Jupiter and Saturn) were all direct descendants of the V2). The US Army eventually decided that it had no need for long range rockets so agreed to transfer Von Braun and his team to the newly set up NASA. That was in 1958/59.
However, the US Air Force and US Navy rocket programmes which resulted in the Atlas, Titan, Delta, Polaris, Poseidon, Minuteman etc) were pretty much home grown efforts with little German input.
