Hope they are all ok. Word is a mayday was sent out by the chopper, so that's promising. Coming ashore from BP Miller Platform around 1400 hrs.

There seems to be a lot of aircraft crashing just lately. Or is it the media reporting every incident nowadays?

i don't think that's completely unusual - i thought Bond had the contract for about 90% of offshore work in NE Scotland

James Bond? Bit risky eh? No wonder they're crashing all the time.

Bristow and CHC are the biggest North Sea chopper firms - Bond are only minor players who recently re-entered that market sector - they have 5 choppers for rig transport and 2 'Jigsaw' SAR choppers. The majority of Police and Ambulance choppers round the country are run by Bond, albeit a different division of the company.

Hoping for the best from this, but the news reports aren't great........

Yup.

BBC News appears to be more interested in showing live pictures of f-all happening outside Buckingham Palace than telling the viewers about this crash.

I know someone off shore at mo, and he was on the rig next to the one involved in the last crash, and knew some of the guys. He hates flying, even in perfect weather.

I told him yesterday that I never wanted to talk to him again, and to fk off out of my life frown

So why the hell am I here with tears rolling down my cheeks

It's ste like this that makes you realise some things just don't matter.

Thoughts with all involved
