Why aren't we more like this French boats block Channel ports.

It's about fishing quotas.......again!

But at least they do something, we just accept what the monkeys in the EU tell us. rage

I'm glad I got the ferry back last night! Actually, tomorrow night I'm staying at a hotel in Rotherham, I think I'd rather have been stuck in France frown

Well if nothing else the Mods are bloody quick tonight!

I know it's a news item but I still thought it more appropriate to post in The Lounge.

As you were.

Why, if we tried something like that we'd need to get permission, then be arrested for being terrorists.....

Was driving down the M20 about 4.00pm today, luckily London Bound. Traffic didn't look good at all due to operation stack being used once again.

Good luck to anybody heading towards Ashford over the next few days.

Unlucky. You have my sympatheys.

In case you haven't stayed there before, I just thought I'd forwarn you that it is a sthole.

Whilst your there, why not visit the rather 'interesting / inbred' charactors in the charming part of town known as Eastwood? :shudder:
It was going to be Hull, but as there are no hotels in Hull that are sensibly priced and have car parking I thought I'd go for somewhere on the way towards Brum where I have a meeting the day after frown

And you picked Rotherham? eek

Bad decision.
It has an Ibis with a car park and is less than 5 mins off the motorway so it'll have to do!

Shall we take this thread a bit further off the subject of 'News, Politics & Economics' now? hehe

It's nowt to do with that, our police take the view that if you conduct an illegal act in the process of a protest you will suffer the legal consequences. Hence if you obstruct the harbour they will come out and remove you as you will be spoiling things for a lot of people completely unconnected with your grievance.

I suspect most people are in favour of the police cracking down on idiots who want to wreck our power stations for example.

Actually why didn't the French do these sort of things back in 1941? Would have saved us a lot of "bother".

Oh no - we don't just sit back and take it, our glorious government throws the book at already struggling fishermen should they transgress any rules - DEFRA have used proceeds of crime legislation aimed at organised crime to strip assets from fishermen who have broken quota rules - and coopted the media to paint them as evil gangsters.
