I like it smile

That part of London's hardly York or Chester is it...?

Bold, modern, different and, hopefully, accessible to the general public - There should be more buildings like that in London, rather than the monstrosities there are with access only to the rich and privileged who work in/own them.

Come on Boris, more public access to great buildings in London!!!

Not for that much longer thankfully. Redevelopment should improve things a fair bit.

I couldn't see it this Friday, it was very gloomy / misty. It's the first time I've not been able to see it at all, from any of my usual vantage points cry.

Where can I get such a device? It would take my work to a different level.

I do wonder just how accurate that article is (apart from the fact is was written by Sky) they talk about it being just a few metres taller than the Burj in the Middle East, yet the Burj is 163 floor, and this is 220... I know the chinese are short, but how small will these floors be?

It's the same company who managed to build a 30-story skyscraper in 2 weeks

http://news.cnet.com/8301-11386_3-57357524-76/chin...

They have developed a construction technique where the whole building is assembled from pre-constructed "modules" which are simply bolted together... plumbing and wiring already built in.

The irony is... this type of construction is actually incredibly strong

here is a thread hundreds of pages long on skyscrapercity.com

http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=124...

obviously it has attracted quite a bit of attention from enthusiasts, architects and civil engineers.

Having seen the programe last night about the Chinese building a 30 storey building in 14 days using flat packs, 5 storeys a day will be some going, and I dont think I would go in it either thank you.

Well, this is how they build Cruise Ships/Air Craft Carriers.. I guess it could work on buildings.

We done that in the UK just after, or maybe even in the war, called "Prefabs", nothing new there. Basically I mean. :0) So not actually correct to say they developed a technique. Just saying.
